This is the first time the countries’ law enforcement officials have worked in tandem since the spike in Mexican immigration in summer 2021.
In an act of trans-national cooperation, Texas will provide Mexican law enforcement with razor wire for border security.
According to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin and independent reporter Ali Bradley, the wire will be given to the Mexican state of Coahuila.
According to Melugin, the Texas Department of Public Safety will train Mexican personnel at Eagle Pass, a city in the Maverick County of Texas, in cooperation with the Texas Military Department. There, Mexican law enforcement will also receive the razor wire supplies.
This is the first time the countries’ law enforcement officials have worked in tandem since the spike in Mexican immigration in summer 2021.
Coahuila, one of six Mexican states sharing a border with the U.S., has historically been a hotspot for illegal immigration. It’s just minutes from Del Rio, Texas.
This past year, Coahuila captured attention when over 10,000 Haitian immigrants set up makeshift housing under a bridge connecting the US and Mexico, posing a health and safety concern to nearby residents.
