Texts Show Dem Rep. Katie Porter Blaming and Punishing Veterans for Presumably “Giving Her COVID”
This Thursday text messages The leaked document showed that Rep. Katie Porter, D-CA, had permanently barred a female staffer from the congressional office due to her failure to pass a COVID-19 testing. Porter accused the staffer of failing to give her COVID-19 and refused to allow her to retrieve her personal items in person. She also showed no compassion for the staffer’s personal tragedy.
Porter had to be sanitized at the moment. He is a well-known liberal who loves whiteboards and believes that grandstanding in hearings is evidence of brilliance. What made matters worse was the person who was working for Porter.
Later, it was revealed the person Porter had treated like absolute dirt was Sash Georgiades, a Wounded Warrior Fellow who was operating as a veteran liaison inside the congresswoman’s office. Georgiades claims that the two of them never interacted again after Porter made fun of her and banned her. This was all bad enough. But a resurfaced video made it worse.
It features Georgiades and Porter. Porter proclaims that “we need to be backing up our gratitude for veterans with action.” Problem? The video was posted two weeks ago After Georgiades was accused of giving Porter COVID-19, and she was viciously expelled from the office.
It is important that we show our gratitude to veterans by taking action. Sasha, the Veteran and Servicemember liaison at our office, sat down to talk about some of my bipartisan initiatives that will help veterans. This included my bill to help small veteran-owned businesses obtain federal contracts. pic.twitter.com/0mpP6DoPgN

When you put the timeline together, it’s pretty grotesque. Porter treated Georgiades like garbage, kicking her out of the office permanently and claiming the staffer gave her COVID-19 (something Porter couldn’t possibly know). Yet two weeks later, Porter put up a previously-filmed video with Georgiades bragging about the congresswoman’s supposed concern and respect for veterans.
There’s something sociopathic about that, especially given Porter reportedly never reconnected with Georgiades to apologize or explain her behavior. Normal people don’t treat their employees like trash only to use videos of them for what boils down to shameless self-promotion.
Porter seemed to have no regrets or care about what happened. Otherwise, she would have at the very least canned the video in order not to exploit Georgiades. Instead, she just threw the clip out there anyway as if she hadn’t banned the veteran from her office under ridiculous, self-serving pretenses.
Do you think this is what Washington’s politicians are like? I certainly hope not, but it wouldn’t surprise me if most fit the bill. Porter seems to be an unusual mix of obnoxious elitism and abject mediocrity.
