‘Chosen’ actors cause stir with comments on LGBT flag dispute: ‘You’re in for trouble’
Controversy Erupts Over LGBT Flag on Set of “The Chosen” TV Show
Things are heating up after cast members of “The Chosen” spoke out against the presence of a rainbow flag representing the LGBT movement on the set of a television series about the life of Jesus. The controversy began when a promotional video for Season 4 of the series included an image of a small rainbow flag attached to a piece of equipment, apparently being displayed by one of the crew as videographers recorded a scene.
Turning Point USA contributor Jon Root asked about it, and was told through the show’s official Twitter account that the series respects whatever anyone happens to believe. The show’s Twitter response to Root, posted Tuesday, provoked anger and social media talk of a possible boycott of the show.

Despite the backlash, the show’s official Twitter account defended the flag’s presence, stating that they work with anyone who helps them portray or honor the authentic Jesus, regardless of their beliefs or lack thereof.
The flag appears for about four seconds in the promotional video, which runs almost seven minutes. Check out the video below:

The Chosen actors respond to critics
Two actors from the hit show, The Chosen, have taken to social media to defend the show against critics who have accused it of being homophobic. Jordan Ross, who plays the apostle known as “Little James,” wrote on Twitter that he was proud of the love and acceptance displayed on set every day, and that it wouldn’t change no matter what hateful critics said. Giavani Cairo, who plays the disciple Thaddeus, also weighed in, saying that anyone who goes after one of their family members for something like this is no fan of theirs.
As one of the actors on The Chosen, I am so proud of the love and acceptance displayed on our set every day. That’s not going to change no matter what some hateful critics say.

Another one of the actors on The Chosen here. Anyone who is going to go at one of our family members for something like this, is no fan of ours. They can close the door on the way out “Love one another as I have loved you” We stand with our brother

Ross later turned up the heat, saying that his brother, Cairo, wasn’t the only one who stood by the LGBTQ members of their Chosen family, and that critics should get out of here with their hate, homophobia, and ignorance. However, some social media users fired back, saying that they would never spend another dime on the show and that it wouldn’t go well for the actors or The Chosen.
This is not going to go well for you or The Chosen. :-/

‘The Chosen’ Actors Respond to LGBT Flag Controversy
I don’t agree with someone being mean to a gay person. But if or anyone else Supports/Encourages lgbt , that tells me you don’t know the Bible , you don’t understand His teachings, you’re an Apostate and you don’t Love them. If you did you would tell them truth.

So, this doesn’t seem like, hey, we allow people with different beliefs on our set, even though it is a Christian production. This seems like you’re saying—the shows prime audience, which is Bible, believing Christians (many of whom actually contributed money to help get this…

The controversy surrounding ‘The Chosen’ and the LGBT flag has sparked a heated debate. While some argue that the show’s unwillingness to take a stand against the flag is disappointing, others believe that the show’s message of love and acceptance should extend to all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation.
At The Federalist, staff writer Jordan Boyd called the show’s response disappointing. However, the actors of ‘The Chosen’ have responded to the controversy, stating that they do not condone any form of discrimination or hate towards the LGBT community.
“I don’t agree with someone being mean to a gay person. But if anyone else supports/encourages LGBT, that tells me you don’t know the Bible, you don’t understand His teachings, you’re an Apostate and you don’t love them. If you did, you would tell them the truth,” tweeted ProudKentuckyGirl*.
Meanwhile, Megan Basham argued that the show’s prime audience is Bible-believing Christians, many of whom contributed money to help get the show off the ground. She believes that the show’s response to the controversy is not in line with the beliefs of its audience.
Despite the controversy, ‘The Chosen’ continues to bring the Gospel to life through its incredible work. As the show’s message of love and acceptance spreads, it is important to remember that we should treat all individuals with kindness and respect, regardless of our differences.
