‘The Chosen’ Exceeds Expectations, Spotlights TV Trend Conservatives Can Embrace

‘The Chosen’ ⁣Smashes Expectations in Debut, Highlights Trend ‍on TV Conservatives Should ⁤Celebrate

Over half a million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode of “The ⁢Chosen” on CW ⁣last week, marking ‌a remarkable⁣ success for this Christian production.

On ‌Sunday, July 16th, Angel Studios’ show “The Chosen” made its debut on ‍the⁣ network, captivating an audience of 520,000 viewers, according to the television news site TV Line.

This extraordinary show, ⁤which beautifully‌ portrays the miracles⁤ and teachings of ‍Jesus, while‌ bringing the apostles to life, achieved this feat despite‍ already being available for three seasons on other‍ platforms such as Netflix. According ⁣to ⁢ Variety, the show’s first three seasons will ⁣air weekly on ⁤CW in the 8 p.m. Sunday time slot through Christmas Eve.

The television debut of “The Chosen,” produced in Utah, drew a significantly larger audience compared to ⁣other CW offerings like “Riverdale” and “Nancy Drew.”

“By comparison, ‘Nancy Drew’ has consistently⁣ brought in around 400,000 viewers for each ‍episode ⁢this summer, per TV ⁣Series Finale,” according to ⁤the ⁤Salt Lake ⁤City,⁢ Utah-based Deseret ‌News. “And ‘Riverdale’ has hovered around 200,000 viewers ⁢per episode this spring and summer.”

“This show has already connected deeply with‌ viewers ⁢around ‌the world, ⁤and The CW will expand its audience‌ even further,” exclaimed ‍CW President Brad Schwarz in a June‌ 9 statement, ⁢as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, other⁤ Christian productions, like “Sound of Freedom” starring Jim Caviezel, have also experienced tremendous success.

Made with a modest budget of only $14.6 million, the anti-human trafficking film ‍“Sound of Freedom” ⁣has already ‍grossed ‌over‍ $127.5 million ⁣by Monday, according to the cinema site Box Office⁣ Mojo.

This year has also witnessed the release of other Christian films, such as the thrilling horror movie “Nefarious” from Believe Entertainment and “Jesus Revolution” from ‍Angel Studios.

Angel‍ Studios and ⁣other production ‌companies have ‌recognized⁤ the unmet ⁣demand for Christian⁢ content and have achieved remarkable success as a result. In the midst of ⁤a strike by actors ⁣and writers in Hollywood, “The Chosen” stands out ⁤as one of the few ‌shows still⁢ in production. It ⁣was granted a waiver by the Screen ⁣Actors Guild because⁣ it is an independent production, not affiliated with the Alliance ⁣of Motion Picture‍ and Television ‌Producers, according to Deadline.

Studios⁣ should take note of the tremendous success ‌of these productions and make‌ a greater effort‌ to produce shows and movies that resonate with Christians‍ and their families, rather than⁣ focusing ⁤on woke remakes and leftist cartoons.

In both “The Chosen” and “Sound of ‍Freedom,” Catholic men of courage take on ‌the lead⁢ roles. Jonathan Roumie portrays‍ Jesus in “The Chosen,” while Jim Caveziel plays ‌the protagonist in “Sound of Freedom.” In January, at the⁣ first March for Life since Roe v. Wade‌ was overturned, Roumie fearlessly addressed the pro-life gathering in Washington, unashamedly expressing⁤ his‌ faith.

Caveziel, on the other hand, is famously known⁢ for his portrayal of Jesus in Mel Gibson’s ⁣2004 classic “The‌ Passion of the Christ.”

He recently revealed his struggle to keep references to God in the movie “The Count of Monte Cristo,” where he played the titular character.

Disney‌ executives, he said, wanted to remove “God” from ‍the picture.
