The Deadly Sin That Terrifies Me Most And Why It’s Become A Cancer In America

Question of the Day: Which of the seven deadly sins would you choose to commit if you were forced to die? I have my answer but would love to hear yours.

Here are the seven deadly sins according to the Roman Catholic Church: Envy and Gluttony; Pride, Greed and Lust; Envy and Gluttony; Wrath and Sloth.

One of these cardinal crimes drives me crazy and I try to avoid it as much as possible: The sins of slothfulness and laziness.

These sins can be particularly detrimental to an individual and society as a whole. However, the vice known as laziness is now a reality. so ubiquitous in American society This must be addressed.

I rarely commit that sin, but when it does occur, it’s usually in extraordinary circumstances such as a few weeks ago when I was on an 18-hour plane ride. I binge-watched an entire season of a TV show, and I felt so sloppy — something I would never have done had I not been entrapped in a silver tube flying across the sky.

It is frightening to be trapped in the sins of laziness. Yet for many others, the sin of slothfulness is so commonplace that its opposite virtue — hard work — seems rare.

For example, when my husband and me were at Atlanta airport, we had very few options for food. We didn’t have much time before our trip to Africa. We split up and went to different restaurants. My husband wanted tacos, while I wanted chicken.

Although there wasn’t a rush of customers, the line for the chicken place was long. Then, I realized why. The young girl taking orders wouldn’t get off of her phone. She was just too distracted. She was too busy scrolling Instagram and texting to keep up with each customer. She was elegantly dressed. She disappeared suddenly without giving any explanation. Customers were left devastated. The cook was also confused and he quickly stepped in to help her while she was gone.

I finally gave up on the restaurant line because I was hungry and annoyed and joined my husband’s line.

Who am I seeing at the cash register in this new establishment? The girl at the chicken stand!

She wasn’t working two jobs — she was chatting away, giggling and on her phone with a taco stand worker of a similar attitude.

Each lady was content to be lazy.

What drove me mad was the fact that you knew these girls would be the loudest at a Black Lives Matter demonstration. I knew from their character and the lack of effort that they displayed, that they would be talking about the so-called oppression in America. They would also be chanting with BLM protesters demanding everything under the sun.

The real draw of Atlanta’s airport was the attitude change we saw when we arrived in Africa.

While on the trip, my husband and I met with black people — who, arguably, have been truly oppressed, impoverished, and faced true injustice in their lives. These people still worked hard every day. These people I met overseas would never think of themselves as such. ‘oppressed’ — despite not having any of the same liberties or freedoms we are blessed with in the USA. Many Americans claim that they are entitled to the same liberties and freedoms as Americans. “the system” Their lack of happiness is their fault.

Well, no, perhaps the deadly sin of slothfulness can explain why you aren’t getting ahead in life the way you think you’re entitled to. Perhaps if you put in the effort, you can get ahead.

Now, I’ve worked many different jobs over the years — waitressing, at a gym, blockbuster, and more — and no matter what job I’ve had I always give 100%.

Granted, people can have a bad day and can’t give it their all or don’t perform to the best of their ability. This happens. However, some people will choose to ignore their duties and make little effort.

One example: I had a nanny who used to send me pictures of the highway every morning. “Running late! Be there soon!” It drove me to the wall.

If that happens every day, it isn’t the traffic’s fault you’re late. You’re to blame. It’s time to get up earlier and go out.

It might be a big change for you or you, but you can’t use traffic as a crutch to excuse your laziness. If you need to alter your day-to-day life to be successful wherever you’re working — then get to it.

For some reason, that’s difficult for many people to accept, especially in our country. Americans love to complain, but are unwilling to make significant efforts to improve their lives. It seems they’d rather be lazy and miserable than hard-working and happy.

Think about how many people are willing to do a job. “resolution” Each year, January 1st. Then, quit five
