The Forgotten Victims of Biden’s Bungled Afghanistan Retreat
The fallout from the Biden administration’s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan continues to grow even more tragic. Almost four months after President Joe Biden’s botched removal of troops from the region, American citizens and Afghan allies remain trapped in the area. But now, recent reports reveal another catastrophic development: The Afghan children who were evacuated have not yet been reunited with their parents, and many have been waiting for months.
Afghan Children Separated From Parents
In early November, Reuters reported that over 1,000 kids still have not been reunited with their families after being removed from Afghanistan without their parents. CNN reported:
“Many of the children tried to flee Afghanistan with their families but got separated in the chaos, advocates say. Some lost touch with their parents during the bombing at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport. And some of their parents didn’t survive the terror attack.”
Dr. Sabrina Perrino, an Afghan American pediatrician, called the development “shocking” and noted that the children are “potentially feeling alone and feeling scared.”
