Disturbing Poll Shakes Recent Memory
We’ve Never Seen a More Disturbing Poll Result: Young Americans’ Troubling Views on Israel
Over the past few decades, we’ve come across numerous unsettling poll results. However, the latest Harvard/Harris Poll, released recently, has truly shocked us.
According to this poll, the majority of the American public seems to be rational and sane. Well, at least most of them. The older generation seems to be doing fine.
But it’s the younger generation that’s causing concern. Something needs to be done about them.
The Harvard/Harris poll reveals that while a significant majority of every age group agrees that the October 7 terror attack, which resulted in the slaughter of 1,200 Israelis and the kidnapping of 240 more, was a genocidal act of terror, around 60% of individuals aged 18 to 24 believe that such an attack can be justified based on the grievances of Palestinians.
Let that sink in: Even though two-thirds of 18- to 24-year-olds acknowledge that Hamas’ terror attacks were genocidal, six out of ten still believe that these attacks can be justified.
And it gets worse.
Every age group in America, except for 18- to 24-year-olds, supports Israel over Hamas. The older you are, the less likely you are to side with Hamas. In fact, among those aged 65 and older, 96% oppose Hamas. However, among the younger generation, the numbers are evenly split: 50/50.
But wait, there’s more.
When asked whether students on campus who call for the genocide of Jews should be punished for violating university rules, the majority of Americans from all age groups say yes. And once again, the older you are, the more likely you are to agree. This isn’t because Americans are against free speech. It’s because they understand that every form of speech is regulated on campus, so why should genocidal Jew-haters be exempt?
Everyone seems to agree with this, except for 18- to 24-year-olds. They believe that while such speech is considered ”hate speech,” 53% of them think students should be “told they are free to call for genocide.”
Yes, it’s shocking to discover that young people are not fragile when it comes to advocating for the death of Jews.

And it gets even worse.
While a strong majority of young people, around 70%, agree that Israel is making efforts to avoid civilian casualties, and 58% believe that Hamas desires to commit genocide, a staggering 76% of young people think that negotiating with Hamas can lead to peace, despite their clear goal of destroying Israel.
But here’s the kicker: 51% of 18- to 24-year-olds believe that “the long-term solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict” is to “end Israel and give it to Hamas and the Palestinians.”
That’s right. Young people acknowledge that Hamas is genocidal, engages in human rights abuses, and commits heinous atrocities regularly. And yet, they want Israel to be destroyed and handed over to Hamas.
So, why do these young people hold such disturbing views?
Thankfully, the poll provides an answer. On page 56, Americans were asked whether they support or oppose the ideology that white people are oppressors and certain groups should be favored due to historical oppression. The majority of Americans, 65%, oppose this ideology.
However, young people have a different perspective. A staggering 79% of them support this ideology. Only a slim majority of 25- to 34-year-olds disagree with it.
This ideology is the reason behind the younger generation’s animosity towards Israel. According to the same 18- to 24-year-olds, Jews are part of the oppressor class. Around 67% of them believe that “Jews as a class are oppressors and should be treated as oppressors.”
The evil of critical race theory, or as it is now called, diversity, equity, and inclusion, is evident in these disturbing views.
These numbers among young people shouldn’t come as a surprise. The coalition formed by Barack Obama, which focused on supposedly marginalized groups (primarily racial and sexual minorities), is strongest among the younger generation. Only 52% of 18- to 24-year-olds in America are white, and a significant portion of Generation Z identifies as LGBTQ+.
However, demographics don’t determine destiny. For instance, Hispanic voters in Florida are increasingly leaning towards the Republican party. Regardless of demographics, young people should reject these misguided beliefs.
But the core philosophy of the Left, which revolves around the oppressor/oppressed narrative, focuses solely on group identity. If you belong to a minority group (except for Jews and Asians trying to get into college), you are considered a victim. As the radical Left gains influence, it’s no surprise that the growing minority identity is fueling anti-white sentiments.
This indoctrination has been going on for three generations, and it has become an integral part of the Democratic Party’s playbook. Currently, there’s a battle within the party between moderates and radicals.
The moderates believe that the system can be reformed to accommodate the demands of marginalized individuals, but they don’t advocate for its obliteration. The Biden administration falls into this category; they talk about equity but don’t seek to implement it in the radical ways desired by the extremists.
On the other hand, the radicals view the moderates as weak and foolish, using them as tools to push their agenda. That’s why the New York Times suddenly champions free speech, but only when it comes to students calling for Israel’s destruction. According to the Times, “Universities are under tremendous pressure to stamp out antisemitism, but some say that is causing fear and curbing free expression.”
Of course, free speech has never been a priority for the Times. In fact, former op-ed page editor James Bennet recently wrote a scathing essay for the Economist, criticizing the Times for its illiberal bias and its inclination to shut down debates.
But suddenly, the Times is concerned about free speech. Or maybe they’re just lying and don’t actually care about it.
My hunch is that they’re lying.

The radicals aim to exploit the tools of liberalism to promote their radical, illiberal agenda, which seeks to dismantle the Western world. This is evident in the views of young people who believe that, in the name of diversity and tolerance, Israel, the only tolerant and diverse country in the Middle East, should be destroyed and replaced by the terrorist organization Hamas. When young people preach diversity, equity, and inclusion, what they really mean is anti-white oppression disguised as “reparative justice.”
This is why we see numerous articles in the mainstream media discussing the generational divide among young Jews, who fail to understand their liberal parents’ support for various viewpoints while their own children are indoctrinated with hatred towards their parents and civilization.
For instance, the Wall Street Journal recently featured a story about the Wirtschafter family. The grandparents, who lived in Jerusalem during the 1973 war, are staunch Zionists. However, their children, who identify as “progressive Zionists,” have a more liberal perspective. Their daughter and son now despise Israel and wish for it to cease being a Jewish state. This problem isn’t unique to Jews; it’s a generational issue across the Western world. Liberal parents raise radical children who exploit their parents’ weakness to dismantle the entire system. And the parents, like the Wirtschafters, weakly nod their heads, proud of their children for standing up for their beliefs.
But what if those beliefs involve viewing white people and Jews as oppressors? Are they still proud?
Radicals have been playing this game since the 1960s, and they’ve been winning. They will continue to win until disillusioned liberals realize they’ve been deceived and stop spouting empty platitudes about tolerance and diversity while their own children prepare to dismantle society in the name of weaponized social justice.
How can political leaders and educators effectively denounce and challenge radical ideologies that promote hate speech and the destruction of Israel, while still upholding the principles of free speech and expression
S evident in their support for groups like Hamas, their call for the destruction of Israel, and their belief in the oppression narrative that demonizes certain groups, including Jews.
It’s crucial to recognize that these troubling views held by young Americans are not representative of the entire population. The majority of Americans, regardless of age, still support Israel over Hamas and oppose genocidal speech. However, the fact that a significant portion of the younger generation holds these views is concerning and demands attention.
The indoctrination of critical race theory and the emphasis on group identity and victimhood culture contribute to the radical beliefs we see among young people today. The Left’s focus on the oppressor/oppressed narrative and the demonization of certain groups fuels anti-white sentiments and a distorted view of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
To address this issue, it’s essential to promote critical thinking and open dialogue among young people. Education should focus on facts, historical context, and multiple perspectives to counteract the one-sided narrative propagated by radical ideologies. By fostering understanding and empathy, we can encourage young Americans to reject extremist beliefs and engage in constructive discussions about complicated issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Furthermore, political leaders and educators must denounce and challenge radical ideologies that promote hate speech and the destruction of Israel. It is not enough to tolerate such views under the guise of free speech. We must draw a line between legitimate expression of ideas and the incitement of violence and hatred.
The battle between moderates and radicals within the Democratic Party reflects broader societal divisions. It is crucial for moderates to stand firm and reject the radical agenda that seeks to dismantle the system rather than reform it. Promoting unity and common values based on the principles of freedom, equality, and justice can help bridge the gap and prevent the spread of radical beliefs.
In conclusion, the disturbing views held by some young Americans regarding Israel demand our attention and action. We must address the underlying causes of these beliefs and promote critical thinking, open dialogue, and education based on facts and multiple perspectives. By doing so, we can work towards a more rational and informed society that rejects extremism and advocates for peace, tolerance, and understanding.
