The Rapidly Expanding Transgender Cult Is The Product Of Cultural Marxism
The Country Music Awards was home to a surreal moment last week when co-host Kelsea Ballerini teamed up with various drag performers to sing a campy version of her single titled “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too).” The performance took aim at Tennessee laws that denied gender-affirming care for children. The act was steeped in queerness, and it was clear that it’s time for the audience to take sides and choose carefully.
The left has chosen its side, and it is the side of a school shooter who has become an emblem of their cultural movement. Cast as a victim of “hateful” traditional religious values is a tragic figure broken by her desire to “be seen,” and so the shooter is sainted, and her death is a kind of redemption play. The trans cult is at the tip of the cultural Marxist spear today. Their defiance of norms is predictable, and their presence is smothering in cultural spaces by design.
Gone are the days when we paused in society to mouth platitudes of togetherness. Instead, we have seen the layers of civil comradery ripped off to reveal a society that is clearly divided along ideological lines. The memetics of cultural Marxism is like a cultural troll meant to show their strength and dispirit opponents by displaying the inevitable power of the mob. It is a way of telling opponents that they are helpless and must conform.
All major institutions have taken up the transgender cause for the same reason they have taken up the cause of Black Lives Matter. It is to gather power, destroy norms, attack tradition, and create the conditions of tribalism that must exist before the collective comes together out of the rubble of universal cancellation. The last man standing is the New Man, the perfect servant to a benevolent master.
In short, cultural Marxism is peddling dystopia through its utopian grievance narratives and rank emotionalism. It grants the self-styled dispossessed enormous power over those it casts as oppressors, determined by an intersectional calculus among victim groups. Ultimately, their project reduces us to the means of production- slaves to the most successful oligarchs, earthly deities who delight in serfdom, providing safety and sustenance in exchange for conformity, and surrender of self to a greater good they determine.
The cultural Marxists’ useful idiots enjoy wielding power, but they never seem to recognize that once they’ve ground down all opposition and extirpated all difference, once they’ve rooted out every intolerance they can conjure, there are no more battles to fight, no more ideas to be born, no more purpose left to live. Their identity politics and the power their “oppression” yields appeal to their egos. They are blinded by the narcissism of “being seen” and the thrill of cultural control, however temporary.
We have to reject the premises of cultural Marxism because it itself cannot live peaceably with federal republicanism or individual autonomy. It demands that all things are constrained by the state and its desires. Governing individuals is like herding cats, whereas ruling over a collective molded by both state pressures (law, force) and social forces (shame, shunning) is a more gratifying task. Thus, the creation and maintenance of cultural hegemony are essential.
The transformative power of the leftist agenda aims to destroy Western liberal culture along with the Enlightenment. To create the New Man, the modern-day Marxists insist, one must kill off the Olds. Cultural Marxism represents authoritarianism that compels conformity.
