Only one Republican is attacking Trump, and it’s not DeSantis, according to ‘The View.’
Former NJ Gov. Chris Christie Goes “Scorched Earth” on Trump, According to “The View”
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who recently launched his presidential bid, is considered a long shot in the crowded GOP primary field. However, the co-hosts of “The View” believe that Christie’s underdog status allows him to go “scorched earth” on former President Donald Trump, a tactic that they seem to appreciate.
“He is the only Republican, in my opinion, who’s going nuclear on Trump. He’s doing what they call ‘scorched earth’ on Trump. And I’m enjoying that. Very much.” – Joy Behar
While Behar seems to appreciate Christie’s anti-Trump rhetoric, she also criticized his stance on issues such as abortion and the Second Amendment. Despite this, Alyssa Farah Griffin, one of the token “Republicans” on the show, believes that Christie’s message is important, even if he has no realistic shot at a GOP nomination.
“Chris Christie is an imperfect messenger telling a very important message. His unfavorables are sky-high in the Republican party. I don’t think there’s a path for him to the nomination.” – Alyssa Farah Griffin
Overall, “The View” seems to believe that Christie is the only Republican candidate willing to take on Trump, although they acknowledge that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a more favorable candidate overall.
