The hosts of ABC’s “The View” spent part of a Tuesday segment discussing whether or not former President Donald Trump should spend some time “in the clink” — and if so, where they would like to see him serve his time.
The conversation came on the heels of a warning from Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan, who has repeatedly fined the former president for violating a gag order in his ongoing hush money trial and threatened him with jail time if he persists.
Trump responded to the warning by saying that it might be worth it to let the court throw him in jail – and the hosts of “The View” appeared to be on board with that plan.

Former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin weighed in first, comparing Trump’s hush money trial to the late O.J. Simpson’s murder trial and arguing that Judge Merchan could not lose control of his courtroom — the way she thought Judge Lance Ito had — or let Trump “be a runaway train in that courtroom.”
“It’s not his courtroom, it’s the judge’s courtroom,” she said. “And so I think, to make a point — to prove a point — put him in the clink! Why not? Put him in the clink.”
“If … I don’t want this to sound like I’m doing wishful thinking … but which prison would be best?” Whoopi Goldberg asked, prompting laughter from the audience.

“I know which one,” Hostin waved her hands and practically bounced out of her seat in excitement. “Rikers!”
“That’s what I got for number one,” Goldberg laughed as Hostin continued to dance in her chair. “Rikers. But you know, I’m okay if he goes to Alcatraz and they reopen it. [laughter] What about … Guantanamo Bay?”
“That’d be close to Mar-a-Lago,” co-host Ana Navarro said. “Melania can come and visit.”
“What about Supermax?” Goldberg asked, noting that former Sinaloa cartel leader “El Chapo” had been held at the Supermax facility in Colorado and could be a potential cellmate for Trump.
