‘The View’ outraged by Trump’s ‘fair trial’ demand, proposes unconventional penalties if he’s found guilty.
Former President Trump’s Right to a Fair Trial Sparks Controversy on ”The View”
During a recent episode of “The View,” some of the hosts expressed their dismay over the idea that former President Donald Trump should be afforded the rights of the accused as guaranteed by our Constitution.
Sara Haines, one of the hosts, was particularly taken aback by the possibility that Trump’s trial could extend beyond the 2024 election. She questioned whether voters should have all the information about the trial before casting their vote for the president of the United States.
Haines referred to a recent CNN interview with former Attorney General Bill Barr, who emphasized the importance of ensuring a fair trial for Trump. This statement from Barr left Haines astonished, as she couldn’t understand how someone could go to a voting booth without knowing all the details of the trial.
Sara Haines is shocked to hear Trump should get a “fair trial,” saying it “blew my mind”:

Sunny Hostin, another co-host, joined the conversation and accused Barr of enabling Trump. She claimed that Barr was responsible for the weaponization of the government and the division between Republicans and Democrats within the Department of Justice.
Sunny Hostin claims former AG Bill Barr was the one who “started that trend” of “the weaponization of the government.”

However, it is important to note that the weaponization of the Justice Department did not start with Barr. During the Obama administration, the FBI launched “Crossfire Hurricane,” targeting the 2016 Trump campaign. This was followed by the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate alleged collusion with Russia. Ultimately, it was revealed that these allegations were unfounded.
Furthermore, the Obama IRS targeted conservative political groups, and the DOJ refused to prosecute those responsible. Currently, the Biden administration is using the DOJ to pursue multiple criminal charges against Trump, while attempting to give his son Hunter a lenient plea deal for serious offenses.
Hostin also speculated on what would happen if Trump were convicted, suggesting that his Secret Service security detail would face challenges in protecting him as a former president in prison. She proposed alternatives such as house arrest or solitary confinement.
However, the real issue at hand is not whether voters know the outcome of Trump’s trial before the election, but rather the fact that he was charged in the first place.
It is clear that the hosts of “The View” have strong opinions on this matter, but it is essential to consider the principles of our legal system and the rights of the accused.
