The View says Karoline Leavitt got her job because of ‘wokeness’ and being ‘a 10’
The article discusses a recent episode of the television show “The View,” where the hosts criticized karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, for her comments about “wokeness.” Whoopi Goldberg expressed her frustration over Leavitt’s statement that there would be ”no wokeness” during her tenure, emphasizing that such initiatives are essential for inclusivity and were fought for to ensure women’s and minorities’ access to opportunities. Joy Behar dismissed Leavitt’s qualifications by implying she got her position as of her looks, referencing a comment from Donald Trump. However, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that Leavitt has prior experience in government communications, including serving under Trump and running for Congress. The segment highlights ongoing debates about diversity, qualifications, and gender dynamics in politics.
The View says Karoline Leavitt got her job because of ‘wokeness’ and being ‘a 10’
The hosts on The View slammed White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday over her remarks about “wokeness” and claimed she had the job because of her attractiveness.
“I would like — this young lady, this is her first job. I would like her to do a little homework because she said something yesterday that really pissed me off,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said. “She said, ‘There will be no wokeness here.’”
“Let me explain something to you,” Goldberg continued. “Without that wokeness, you might not have that job. Because women were not invited to that table! Women were not invited to many tables in this nation.”
Leavitt hosted her first press briefing on Tuesday where she defended President Donald Trump’s executive actions and policies. She stated that there would be “no more funding for transgenderism and wokeness across our federal bureaucracy and agencies.”
“The reason we fought and busted our behinds [was] to make sure that you didn’t have to worry about this,” Goldberg ranted. “And now to hear you talk about it, and to hear anybody talk about ‘the wokeness,’ the wokeness was put in place for a reason: because black people couldn’t get into colleges, because women could not get into the colleges they wanted to go to. This is all women, see. This is not black, Asian women. This is all women. Women were not invited to this party. It was a man’s world, and we busted our a**es to make sure that this was a person’s world.”
Goldberg concluded, “So please, please stop using that phrase and talking about this because you don’t understand what you’re saying.”
Co-host Joy Behar belittled Leavitt’s adept press briefing by suggesting that she was there because of her attractiveness.
“She’s probably been put in there because, according to Donald Trump, ‘She’s a 10.’ You know that’s what it is,” Behar scoffed.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin squashed Goldberg’s dismissive claims that it was Leavitt’s “first job” and noted that Leavitt had previously served in the first Trump administration.
Leavitt had been an assistant press secretary under Kayleigh McEnany in the White House in 2019 and later worked as the communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). She also successfully won the Republican nomination in a run for the House of Representatives in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in 2022 but lost the election to incumbent Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH).
She later worked on Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign as the national press secretary while being pregnant with her first child and giving birth last July.
The Washington Examiner reached out to Leavitt for comment.
