Joy Behar of The View labels Abbott as a sadist amidst escalating border buoy dispute.

The View Co-Host Joy Behar Calls Gov. Greg ⁣Abbott “A Sadist”

The ‌View co-host Joy Behar made a bold statement during Tuesday⁤ morning’s episode, referring to Gov.⁤ Greg Abbott (R-TX)‍ as “a sadist.” This comment comes in ⁤the wake of ‌the Department of Justice filing‌ a lawsuit against Abbott, demanding the removal of a floating barrier installed in⁣ the ⁣Rio Grande. Abbott, however, has vowed to take the fight to the Supreme Court.

Behar’s Accusation

“You know,⁢ the thing about Abbott is ⁤that‍ he is a sadist,” Behar passionately expressed. “I looked up the⁢ word ‘sadist.’ It’s‍ a person who derives pleasure, ‍sometimes sexual gratification —⁣ I don’t think ⁣that’s his problem ‍— from⁣ inflicting⁣ pain, suffering, or humiliation on⁣ others. And ⁢to ⁤that point, ‌I⁤ want to tell Americans⁤ that Abbott ⁣signed a law‌ stripping‌ construction workers, who⁤ are working in 110-degree Texas‌ heat ⁣— he has‍ stripped them of the right to water breaks every four hours and time to rest in‌ the shade. He does not ‍allow them⁢ to just take some water because they’re in this heat.”

Behar firmly believes that the governor possesses “a sadistic streak” and criticizes‌ Texas voters‍ for ⁢choosing Abbott over Beto⁢ O’Rourke in the ⁢2022 Texas gubernatorial election.

The DOJ Lawsuit and Abbott’s Response

The Department of Justice has⁢ demanded that the Texas government remove ⁢the‌ floating barrier at their own expense, arguing that ‍its installation is illegal. The White House has also criticized Abbott’s policies, labeling them as “dangerous and‌ unlawful.” Prior to the lawsuit, O’Rourke called on President Joe‌ Biden ⁣to take‌ decisive action⁢ against Abbott.

However, Abbott remains steadfast in his refusal⁤ to dismantle ‌the barriers.⁣ In a letter to President⁤ Biden, he emphasized Texas’s constitutional authority to address the ‌crisis caused by illegal immigration.

“If you truly care about human life, you must begin enforcing federal ⁤immigration laws,” Abbott‍ wrote. “By doing so, ‌you can help me ⁤stop⁢ migrants from wagering ⁤their⁤ lives in the waters ‍of the Rio‍ Grande ⁤River. You can also help me save Texans, and indeed all ⁢Americans, from⁣ deadly drugs ⁤like fentanyl, cartel violence,‌ and⁤ the horrors‍ of human trafficking. To end the risk that ⁤migrants will be harmed‌ crossing the border illegally, you must fully enforce the laws of the United States that prohibit illegal immigration between ports of entry.”

The Washington Examiner has ‍reached out to Abbott’s office for comment.
