Border Patrol Union Leader criticizes Biden Admin before anticipated border surge, saying “They want it to continue.”
Union Leader Slams Biden Administration Over Southern Border Crisis
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd
A union leader representing U.S. Border Patrol agents slammed the Biden administration on Tuesday, saying that the administration didn’t want the ongoing crisis at the southern border to end. National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said in an interview with Fox News that the issue at the border is not financial, but policy-related.
- Judd believes that the Biden administration was staffed by “activists,” and not people concerned with law and order.
- He added that the administration doesn’t want the crisis to end.
- Judd said, “If we went back to policies like Remain in Mexico, this would end tomorrow. But they don’t want it to end.”
Judd’s comments come as Title 42, a Trump-era health order that has allowed border agents to immediately expel illegal aliens from the country, will expire on May 11. A surge is expected following Title 42’s end, with some reports estimating that up to 700,000 people are waiting in Mexico to take advantage of the policy’s end.
President Joe Biden
President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he expected the situation to be “chaotic” and said he did not know if the U.S. would be able to handle it. Biden is reportedly sending 24,000 law enforcement officers and 1,100 processing coordinators, and 1000 asylum interviews to handle the influx.
Videos from the Border
Videos from the border show long lines of individuals, including many young men, waiting to be processed and crossing into the U.S.
- Non-stop illegal crossings continuing here in Brownsville. This is another group of several hundred that just crossed over, some out of frame under the levee. More are coming. We’ve been watching on our drone as migrants tether a rope to US side of Rio Grande while crossing.
- Massive line of illegal immigrants turning themselves in to immigration officials after DHS announced an enforcement operation on migrants who evaded border patrol agents in El Paso. Majority of migrants in line are males from Venezuela.
The situation at the southern border is a complex issue that requires proper policies to be put in place. The Biden administration needs to take action to address the crisis and ensure the safety and security of the American people.
