Daily Wire hosts call for Biden’s impeachment, citing Mayorkas’ actions

Republican-Led House Impeaches Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

On Tuesday, ‌the hosts of ‍The‍ Daily Wire reacted with fervor to the⁤ news ‌of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas being ⁢impeached by the Republican-led House. ⁤The ⁤border crisis and Mayorkas’ handling of it ‍were the main points of contention.

Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing, during a ⁣lively “Backstage” conversation on Dailywire+, ⁢couldn’t contain his excitement about the breaking news. “I don’t want to talk about news,” he began, “but something significant happened while we ⁣were here that deserves our attention.”

After confirming that President Joe Biden was still in good ⁣health, Boreing dropped the bombshell: Mayorkas had⁣ become the ‌first Cabinet member since the 1800s to be impeached by the‍ House.

Michael Knowles, another host on The Daily ⁤Wire, pointed out that the last⁤ Cabinet member to be impeached was William Belknap, the secretary of war,‌ way back in 1876. Amidst‌ banter with‌ Ben Shapiro and the other hosts, Knowles predicted that Democrats would argue against the impeachment, claiming it⁣ lacked ⁤a solid basis.

According to Knowles, their argument is that Republicans are⁢ impeaching Mayorkas on grounds of maladministration, which they believe is not ‍sufficient cause‍ for‍ impeachment.

The two articles of ⁤impeachment passed by the House accuse Mayorkas‌ of willfully⁢ and systemically refusing⁢ to comply with federal immigration laws, as well as breaching the public‍ trust with false‌ statements and obstructing lawful ⁢oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.

The articles will now be sent to the Democrat-controlled Senate,⁣ where a trial is expected to begin later this month. A two-thirds ⁤vote is required⁢ for conviction and removal ⁢from office.

Knowles argued‍ that Belknap was ‌impeached for ⁢failing to fulfill his duties, and in Mayorkas’ case, he believes the secretary ⁣is criminally negligent ‍and‍ violating the‌ law.

Amidst some laughter and witty‍ remarks, the conversation ⁤circled back to the idea of impeaching Joe Biden for the ⁢same reasons, as ‍he is Mayorkas’ boss.

The “Backstage” discussion also included Daily Wire hosts Candace Owens and Matt Walsh, making it‍ a lively and engaging conversation.

Why does Boreing argue that President Biden should also face⁢ impeachment if⁢ Mayorkas is impeached?

— The Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) September 21, 2021

Mayorkas, who was confirmed by the Senate in February, has been under ‍scrutiny from Republicans for his handling of the border crisis. Critics ‌argue that he has been negligent in his duties, failing to effectively address the⁢ influx of migrants at the southern border.

During the⁤ “Backstage”⁢ conversation, ⁣Boreing expressed his belief that Mayorkas’ impeachment was warranted due to his alleged criminal negligence. He further⁢ argued that if‌ Mayorkas was to be impeached, then⁢ President Biden should face ‍the same fate since he oversees the Department of Homeland Security.

This impeachment comes as no surprise ‍given ‍the increasing tension between Republicans and‌ the Biden administration over immigration policies. The border crisis has been a major point ‍of contention, with ⁢Republicans criticizing⁤ the administration’s perceived lack of action and weak enforcement‌ of immigration laws.

Mayorkas’ impeachment reflects the Republican Party’s ongoing efforts to hold the Biden administration accountable for its ⁤handling of immigration issues. By⁣ targeting a⁣ high-ranking official‍ such as the‌ Secretary of Homeland Security, they hope to send a ‌strong message and push for a change in policy.

It is important to note that Mayorkas’ impeachment by the House does not directly remove him from office. The case would ⁢need to be referred to the Senate, where a trial ‍would take place to decide whether to convict ⁢and⁤ remove ⁣him ⁣from his position. However, given the current political landscape ‍and the Democratic majority in the Senate, it is unlikely that Mayorkas will be removed from office.

The impeachment of a Cabinet member is a rare⁢ occurrence and highlights the level of dissatisfaction among⁣ Republicans regarding the ‍border‍ crisis. It also highlights the partisan ⁣divide in ⁣the‍ country, with Republicans using impeachment as a tool to express their⁣ discontent with ⁣the Biden administration’s policies.

As ⁤the impeachment process progresses, it will be interesting⁣ to see how it plays out and what impact it will have on both Mayorkas‍ and the Biden administration. While the chances of Mayorkas being removed ‍from office‍ are slim, this impeachment ‌serves ⁣as a powerful symbol of the Republican Party’s opposition to ‌the administration’s handling of immigration.

Regardless of the outcome, it is clear that the issue of immigration⁤ will continue to be a major point of contention between the Republican-led House ⁣and‍ the Biden⁣ administration. The country ‌will be closely watching how this impeachment unfolds and what it means for the‌ future ⁤of immigration policy in the United States.
