Shapiro doubts Navalny’s imminent death

Ben Shapiro‍ Speaks‍ Out on⁢ the Mysterious Death of ⁢Putin Critic Alexei Navalny

In a recent episode⁢ of “The ⁢Ben Shapiro Show,” Daily Wire Editor Emeritus ‍Ben Shapiro addressed the‌ shocking ‌death of Alexei Navalny, the prominent⁣ critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Navalny, who had been sentenced on false charges,‌ was reported dead while in prison.

Navalny’s story took‌ a dark turn when he fell ill on a flight within⁢ Russia and was later found to have been poisoned with a nerve agent called Novichok. After seeking⁢ treatment in Germany, Navalny returned ⁢to Russia in 2021 ⁤only to be immediately arrested by Putin’s team. He was then moved to a‍ remote Arctic prison, his whereabouts unknown.

“For weeks, they kept him hidden, constantly moving him so that no one could find him,” Shapiro revealed. “Finally, he managed to ⁤release a message stating that he was in⁤ an extremely cold place⁤ up ‌north, surrounded by dogs ⁤and snow.”

Shapiro shared footage of Navalny from a recent court appearance, noting, “As ‌you can see, he looks alive and well. Though visibly thin, he does⁣ not appear to be on the brink of death.”

According to The Wall Street Journal:

Navalny’s‍ death eliminates the last‍ real political opposition that still remained inside ‌Russia following Putin’s‌ invasion of ⁢Ukraine, his ⁤crackdown on freedom⁤ of speech, and the passage of increasingly draconian laws aimed at stamping out any dissent…⁢ Navalny’s time in jail reflected the worst excesses of a judicial ‌and⁤ prison system that has increasingly been ‍used to punish Putin’s political opponents. He endured continuous suffering, including sleep deprivation from hourly wake-ups by guards. He was subjected to solitary confinement 27 times, sometimes for minor⁤ infractions like‍ a missed button on his⁣ prison uniform.

“Given the regular occurrences of ‘suicides’ and‌ ‘death by natural‍ causes’ ⁢among Putin’s opponents, it’s ⁢no surprise that everyone ⁢suspects Putin’s involvement in Navalny’s demise,” Shapiro asserted. “The Putin regime likely ‌felt ⁤threatened by Navalny, whether from external forces or within Russia itself, and ‌saw this ⁢as a convenient time ‌to ‌eliminate him.”

In a 2020 interview on 60 Minutes, Navalny discussed his poisoning during a flight from Moscow to ⁣Siberia, where he ⁤had been campaigning against Putin’s party‌ in a local election. He collapsed, knowing he was dying ‌but without‍ experiencing any pain.

Shapiro‍ suggested that Putin may have wanted⁣ to poison Navalny ‌due ⁢to his possession of incriminating internal financial documents involving high-ranking Russian officials, which he had posted on ⁢a⁢ blog.

Navalny stated on 60 Minutes, ”There’s something very special about ⁢Mr. Putin – he’s crazy about money. Personal money, his family’s‌ wealth, his friends… all of them, billionaires. So when he fights corruption, ‍he’s essentially fighting against me.”

“And⁤ now, he has fought ⁢him to the⁣ point of Navalny’s death,” Shapiro remarked. “The reality is ⁣that Vladimir Putin is a ruthless ⁢dictator who eliminates his political opponents. The list of people he ⁢has killed, from journalists ⁢to fellow⁤ oligarchs to dissidents challenging him both domestically and internationally, is extensive.”

What⁣ is the significance of the ⁣international community’s lack of response to the treatment of ‌Navalny and⁣ the suspicious deaths in⁤ Russia linked to Putin’s‌ regime?

Prison, leading up to his mysterious death, has raised questions about the extent of Putin’s ‍power and ⁢the⁣ lengths he is willing to go to silence his critics.

Shapiro expressed his concern over the treatment of Navalny and the lack of international response. “This ⁤man was a brave voice⁤ — ⁣the voice of those who dared to speak out against a tyrannical regime. And ⁣yet, he was abandoned — ⁣abandoned by his own government and abandoned by the international⁢ community,” Shapiro stated.

The death of Navalny adds to a long list of suspicious deaths in Russia that have been linked to ‍Putin’s regime. From journalists ⁢to political opponents, several individuals who have spoken out against the government have met untimely ends.

Shapiro urged leaders around ‍the world to take a stand against Putin’s oppressive tactics. “If⁤ we remain⁤ silent, if we turn a blind eye, then we are complicit in the suffering and ⁣death of those who fight for⁤ freedom and⁣ justice. We have a moral ⁣obligation⁢ to ⁢condemn‍ these atrocities ‌and⁣ hold Putin accountable for his actions,”‌ he asserted.

Furthermore, Shapiro emphasized the importance of supporting the people of Russia in their struggle for democracy. “We must stand with the Russian people⁣ in their fight for liberty. We must‌ give them a voice when their own is silenced. We must ‌show them that they‌ are not alone,” Shapiro passionately declared.

In conclusion, the mysterious death of Alexei Navalny has raised ⁤serious concerns about the state of democracy and human ‍rights in Russia. ‌It serves as a chilling⁣ reminder of the ‍lengths some ‍leaders will go to ⁢suppress dissent and maintain power.⁣ The ‍international community must come together and hold Vladimir Putin accountable ⁣for his actions, ensuring that justice is served and that those who fight for freedom are honored and‍ protected.
