Save your iPhone photos before they’re deleted! Here’s how.
Apple to Remove Photo Album Service from iPhones: Here’s How to Save Your Images
Apple recently announced that it will be discontinuing its photo album service, My Photo Stream, across all iPhones. This service, which allowed users to temporarily upload and access photos on multiple Apple devices, will be permanently deleted on July 26. In its place, iCloud Photos will take over.
While users can no longer upload new pictures to My Photo Stream, it’s important to know how to save your existing photos. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the Albums section.
- Select “My Photo Stream.”
- Choose the photos you want to save.
- Tap the Share button.
- Click “Save Image.”
If you’re using a Mac, the photos will be automatically imported into your device’s photo library during this process.
Apple assures users that their photos are already stored on at least one of their devices, so they won’t lose any photos during this transition. However, to ensure your pictures are saved and accessible across multiple devices, it is recommended to enable iCloud Photos.
It’s important to note that iCloud only offers five gigabytes of free space. If you require additional storage, you can choose from various paid plans offered by Apple.
For more information on setting up iCloud Photos and backing up your pictures, you can visit Apple’s support page or contact Apple Support for further assistance.
Apple has not provided a specific reason for discontinuing the photo album service. Stay updated with the latest tech news for any further developments.
