More than 2,400 flights into and out of the United States were canceled in anticipation of Hurricane Milton on Wednesday.

These cancellations began Tuesday as Milton fluctuates between being a Category 4 and Category 5 storm. Flight delays also increased, with nearly 3,000 reported by flight tracking data site FlightAware.

Much of the Southeast is recovering from Hurricane Helene, which first touched ground in Florida, as Milton will. As a result, 88% to 98% of all flights coming into and out of Florida’s Orlando, Tampa, and Southwest Florida airports were canceled, FlightAware reported.

Theme parks across Florida, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando, announced closures on Wednesday to avoid the storm. Universal and SeaWorld will remain closed through Thursday as well.

More than 200 people are dead, and more than 2,000 are reported missing since Hurricane Helene touched ground in Florida and spread to Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

Flights are predicted to return to normal on Friday, with only 55 U.S. cancellations reported as of Wednesday morning.
