Arkansas shooting leaves three dead, community devastated
Arkansas State Police arrested a shooter responsible for the deaths of three people and injuries to 10 others at a grocery store in Fordyce. The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. on a Friday at the Mad Butcher grocery store, located 65 miles south of Little Rock. During the incident, two law enforcement officers were injured but sustained non-life-threatening injuries while exchanging gunfire with the shooter. The details were confirmed by Mike Hagar, the secretary of public safety for Arkansas State Police.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m. Friday outside a Mad Butcher grocery store, 65 miles south of Little Rock, Arkansas. Two law enforcement officers received non-life-threatening injuries while exchanging gunfire with the shooter Friday, according to Mike Hagar, Arkansas State Police secretary of public safety and director. At least one of the eight others injured are in critical condition.
A witness told Fox News he saw a medevac land at the local hospital’s helipad and said that “multiple agencies were down here trying to figure out what was going on.” Another witness said the shooter “destroyed a community today.”
Gov. Sarah Huckabee-Sanders (R-AR) said on social media that she had been “briefed on the tragic shooting in Fordyce, and I’m in constant contact with State Police at the scene. I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives. My prayers are with the victims and all those impacted by this horrific incident.”

Sens. John Boozman (R-AR) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) also expressed condolences on social media.
Law enforcement has not released the shooter’s identity. The Washington Examiner reached out to the Arkansas State Police for comment.
