Tired TV: 99% late-night show guests liberal and zero Republican
The media’s late-night comedy shows pulled out all the stops to help Vice President Kamala Harris beat President-elect Donald Trump — and still, she lost.
Revealing what an epic fail the shows had on influencing their audiences with their anti-Trump rants and jokes, 99% of partisan guests who appeared on the shows over the second half of 2024 were liberals.
The sole conservative was Bill O’Reilly, who sparred with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show in July, during which he said he was an independent.
According to the conservative Media Research Center, the watchdog of TV news, the late-night comedy shows welcomed 120 liberal guests and O’Reilly.
MRC’s NewsBusters group studied the guest lists of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
Then, they divided the guests as partisan officials, journalists, and celebrities to come up with the count.
The partisan count was 35 Democrats to 0 Republicans.
Colbert led with 16 Democrats, while The Daily Show had 14.
For journalists and celebrities, it was 84 liberals to 1 conservative, O’Reilly.

The Daily Show led with 29 liberal guests, and Colbert had 25.
Alex Christy, author of the report, said it was the fifth MRC guest count study since September 2022. During that period, the late-night shows featured 403 liberals to 13 conservatives or 97% liberals.
