Todd Starnes: Catholic Biden Hits Priests With Cease and Desist Order
Catholic priests who have been providing pastoral care for almost two decades at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center were issued a “cease and desist order” just before Holy Week.
Many religious people have been warning for some time that a day was coming when those who follow Jesus Christ’s teachings would be alienated from the public market. Todd Starnes, the author of “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation,” is one of them.
On Saturday, Walter Reed reiterated that the hospital is a “welcoming and healing environment that honors and supports a full range of religious, spiritual, and cultural needs.”
The Holy Name College Friary had been providing priests to the hospital for nearly two decades, according to the Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services.
In response to the cessation order, Archbishop Timothy Broglio stated, “It is incomprehensible that essential pastoral care is taken away from the sick and the aged when it was so readily available…This is a classic case where the adage ‘if it is not broken, do not fix it’ applies.”
The Biden administration needs to clarify why it would eject Catholic priests from a military hospital during Holy Week, particularly given that President Biden professes to be a devout Catholic.
The archdiocese stated that the hospital plans to substitute the priests with a for-profit contractor who has no way of providing Catholic priests to the hospital. In other words, do not be shocked if Ray Epps or FBI handlers are wearing priestly attire.
“The refusal to provide adequate pastoral care while awarding a contract for Catholic ministry to a for-profit company that has no way of providing Catholic priests to the medical center is a glaring violation of service members’ and veterans’ Right to the Free Exercise of Religion,” the archdiocese said.

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) denounced the Biden administration’s decision.
“Priests and pastors guided our troops through the darkest days of our toughest battles,” she wrote on Twitter. “The Biden Admin chose Easter weekend to kick Catholic priests out of Walter Reed, violating their First Amendment right to free exercise of religion. The House will not allow this to stand.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene joined the criticism, calling the decision “embarrassing and wrong.”
“This is another attack on the church, and this time, directed at our military,” Greene wrote on Twitter.
As a Baptist, Todd Starnes proudly stands with his Catholic brethren as they face this harassment.
People of faith who cherish freedom must stand up and denounce this shameless anti-Catholic prejudice in America. Furthermore, individuals should remember on Election Day that Catholic President Joe Biden barred hospitalized military veterans from accessing Catholic priests during Holy Week.
