Tony Gonzales says rhetoric on Jan. 6 is ‘out of control on both sides’

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) said on Sunday that rhetoric surrounding the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, is “absolutely out of control on both sides.”

Gonzales changed the subject to discuss policy rather than the former president’s rhetoric on CBS ‘ Face the Nation on Sunday after being questioned about the use of a song by prisoners accused of crimes connected to the Capitol riot.

It was a terrible time, Jan. 6. We must take steps to ensure that always occurs afterwards. We’re in a time where Biden is failing us, so, you know, I welcome any serious political candidate to come to Texas and see it first, in specific, come see the border ,” Gonzales said.” I certainly was here at the Capitol keeping people from getting on the house floor, but it was great to have President Trump up in Texas.

Gonzales responded that the rhetoric surrounding the event was” out of control” when asked if he sees any danger in the prisoners being made fun of by Trump.

” On all sides, the speech is completely out of control, but I would also visit President Trump being attacked and demonized on all of these various sides.” Similar things happened to President Biden in terms of the defined documents, but you can’t see them. I believe that many people have grown tired of the social speech. They want solutions, and Gonzales said they will vote for whichever political member can provide them with lasting solutions.

Gonzales responded that the Capitol rebellion” should never have happened” and denounced any criticism of law enforcement when pressed further on the matter.

Trump performed the song” Justice for All” with himself and the J6 Prison Choir at a protest on Saturday in Waco, Texas. Trump is seen in the song reciting the pledge of allegiance and singing the” Star Spangled Banner” as prisoners are accused of several crimes for their activities during the rebellion in 2021.

Specialized guidance Jack Smith is presently looking into Trump for both his participation in the riot and his alleged handling of classified documents.
