Top Biden ally steps down from White House post to help Harris – Washington Examiner
Anita Dunn, a close ally of President Joe Biden, is stepping down from her position at the White House to assist Vice President Kamala Harris. Dunn has been a key figure in Biden’s administration, frequently oscillating between her role in the White House, the campaign, and her consulting firm, SKDK. However, reports suggest she has recently faced tensions with Biden’s family following his debate preparations against former President Donald Trump. In a statement, Biden praised Dunn for her unwavering support since the launch of his campaign, acknowledging her significant contributions to their historic 2020 election victory and her role in the administration.

One of President Joe Biden‘s closest confidants, Anita Dunn, is departing the White House.
Dunn, who has moved back and forth between the White House, the campaign, and the public affairs and political consulting firm she founded, SKDK, since the start of Biden’s administration, had reportedly been on the outs with the president’s family after his debate against former President Donald Trump, for which Dunn helped him prepare.
“Four years ago, when I launched my campaign for the battle for the soul of our nation, I was grateful Anita Dunn was right there with me,” Biden wrote Tuesday in a statement. “I’ve known Anita throughout my career. She’s served our nation through three administrations and countless campaigns for candidates at every level.”
“She’s not only a key senior member of our team that helped us win a historic election in 2020 — she’s also been an invaluable part of our White House,” he added. “She’s tough and tested, and her experience and intellect have helped us deliver historic results for the American people.”
Biden concluded by saying he “deeply” valued her “counsel and friendship,” previewing that he will continue to rely on her “partnership and insights as we finish the job over the next six months.”
But Dunn is not going too far. She will now head the pro-Vice President Kamala Harris super PAC, Future Forward, according to the Washington Post.
Dunn, along with her husband Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal lawyer and Trump debate stand-in, had reportedly been on the outs since last month’s debate, in addition to former White House chief of staff Ron Klain. As Biden contended with calls for him to step down as the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, he reportedly closed his circle of advisers to Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, and Annie Tomasini in deciding if and when he should stand down.
