Top Lawmaker On Intel Committee: It’s ‘Incredibly Frustrating’ To Watch Fauci Say Things That Are ‘Not Reflected’ In Intel
Mike Turner (R-OH), Chairman of House Intelligence Committee, criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Fauci made statements over the weekend regarding the origins of COVID, which were not supported in the U.S. intelligence findings.
Turner made the comments during a Sunday interview with Martha Raddatz of ABC News. “This Week” When asked why the Department of Energy and he concluded that the pandemic probably originated from China’s lab, he said:
“I think there’s significant evidence that lends itself to that,” He said. “That’s why you just saw unanimously both the Senate and the House pass legislation demanding that the administration declassify the intelligence the intelligence community has with respect to COVID-19. It is incredibly frustrating for members of Congress to watch Dr. Fauci go on television and say things that are absolutely not supported by the intelligence. We’re seeing the intelligence. It’s not like we voted to say, show us the intelligence. We’ve seen it. We’ve voted to say, show the American people.”
“They’re not getting the straight answer from Dr. Fauci or from this administration,” He said. “They need to be able to see for themselves that they — what has occurred. And I understand that Dr. Fauci has a reason to say that there was not a lab leak, because he was actively working to fund the lab in – in Wuhan. So, you – you see a gentleman who is – who is biased.”
“The evidence totally shows it, that there is funds over which he has control that ended up at the Wuhan lab,” He concluded. “So, at this time, you’ve got a guy who’s going on national television, I believe, and I think members of Congress believe, saying things that are not reflected in the intelligence. So, our view is, show the American public the intelligence and then you can have the intelligence in front of you. And the next time Dr. Fauci’s on you can say, hey, but the intelligence actually says x, and you can challenge him.”

MARTHA RADDATZ ABC NEWS HOST: Today, I’d like to talk about Covid’s origins. Based on substantial evidence, you have stated that you believe Covid came from a Chinese laboratory leak. The Department of Energy claimed that the same conclusion was reached, but it did so with low confidence. Why is this so sure?
REP. MIKE TURNER (R-OH),: I believe there is significant evidence to support that. And – and I still do. You just saw the House and Senate unanimously pass legislation demanding that the government declassify intelligence from the intelligence community regarding Covid-19. It’s extremely frustrating for members to see Dr. Fauci on TV and make statements that are not supported by intelligence. We are seeing the intelligence. It’s not like the vote was to say “Show us the intelligence.” We have seen it. We voted to show the American people. They don’t get the right answer from Dr. Fauci nor from this administration. They need to be able to see for themselves that they — what has occurred. And I understand that Dr. Fauci has a reason to say that there was not a lab leak, because he was actively working to fund the lab in – in Wuhan. So, you – you see a gentleman who is – who is biased. I think this (INAUDIBLE) in public this straight —
RADDATZ
TURNER At this point, you have a man who is going on national TV, which I believe and I believe members of Congress believe, and saying things that aren’t reflected in intelligence. So, our view is, show the American public the intelligence and then you — Martha, you can have the intelligence in front of you. The next time Dr. Fauci comes on, you can tell him, “Hey, but the intelligence actually states x” and challenge him.
