‘Totally Innocent’: Trump Praises Tucker Carlson for Debunking Insurrection Narrative With Jan. 6 Footage
Donald Trump praised Tucker Carlson, Fox News’ anchor for sharing unreleased footage of the Jan. 6 Capitol break. This revealed that the events were not as violent as mainstream media portrays.
Both the Jan. 6 investigation committee and other legislators, such as former Rep. Liz Cheney have claimed that protestors are part of an insurrection program. Carlson said that protestors were allowed inside, even though there was only one. “hooligans” While some vandals were caught, others weren’t. The police even helped some of them. Jacob Chansley also called the “The” in this footage. “Qanon Shaman,” Being calmly taken by police officers through the Capital. Trump praised Carlson for the exposé and for breaking the mainstream narrative.
“Congratulations to Tucker Carlson on one of the biggest ‘scoops’ as a reporter in U.S. history. The New Surveillance Footage of the January 6th Events sheds an entirely different light on what actually happened. The Unselect Committee was a giant SCAM, and has now unequivocally been stamped as CRIMINAL FABRICATORS OF THIS MOST IMPORTANT DAY,” Trump spoke at a Truth Social on March 7. post.
“Pelosi & McConnell failed on security. The Police story is sad and difficult to watch. ‘Trump’ and most others are totally innocent, LET THEM GO FREE, NOW!”
Trump also praised Trump’s work in another blog post “great courage” Kevin McCarthy (R.-Calif.), House Speaker, in the release of surveillance footage to Carlson.
Officer death
Carlson has revealed one clip about Brian Sicknick, a deceased Capitol Police Officer. The New York Times had initially reported that Sicknick was beaten to death by a fire extinguisher during the breach—a claim the outlet retracted a month later.
But, Democrats such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D.Calif.), Vice-President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden continue to point out his death in support of an insurrection on the Capitol.
Carlson says that new footage proves that Sicknick is alive and well after he was allegedly murdered by protestors. According to reports, Jan. 6, committee members who witnessed the footage have not made it public.
The DC Medical Examiner’s office eventually cited natural causes as the reason behind Sicknick’s death—a conclusion accepted by the U.S. Capitol Police.
“Truth is beginning to be revealed. Thank you @SpeakerMcCarthy, @TuckerCarlson & company for showing America the rest of the Jan. 6 story. When will judges begin applying justice equally? Doesn’t look like ‘thousands of armed insurrectionists’ to me,” Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Tweeted March 7.
Johnson sent a June 2021 letter to Yogananda Pittman (acting chief of U.S. Capitol Police), requesting information about unauthorized access at the Capitol through the west terrace doors.
Critique and support for Footage Release
Democrats have attacked McCarthy’s decision to give Jan. 6 footage over to Carlson. Rep. Adam Schiff (D.Calif.), who was a member of Jan. 6’s committee in the past, called Carlson is a “right-wing propagandist” Who spreads “the Big Lie.”
McCarthy maintains that release of footage is in the public interest, as Americans have the right to see the truth regarding events on January 6.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., thanked McCarthy to release the footage. “J6 video tapes will also be available for all J6 defendants. All 42,000+ hours. Thank you Speaker McCarthy,” In a tweet dated February 20, she stated that.
“For two years, the Department of Justice has selectively leaked footage to shape their preferred narratives. And for two years, Democrats in Congress worked to ‘establish’ their own narrative,” Jan. 6 defendant William Pope told The Epoch Times In February
