Trans Activist Dylan Mulvaney Dressed As 6-Year-Old Book Character ‘Eloise’ Sparks Big Reaction On Twitter
Trans advocate Dylan Mulvaney, a 26-year-old TikTok star and activist, sparked controversy after posting a video of himself portraying the six-year-old protagonist from the “Eloise” book series. Mulvaney is known for his “Days of Girlhood” series, which documents his experience transitioning. However, critics claim Mulvaney’s exaggerated portrayal of femininity is offensive to women.
In the video, Mulvaney wears a white button-down shirt, a black skirt with black suspenders, white knee socks, and a large pink bow in the style of the Eloise character. Mulvaney lip-syncs along to the character’s voice while lying on a bed with a neon sign reading “Eloise” above it.
Several Twitter users criticized Mulvaney for what they viewed as inappropriate behavior and a fetishizing of girlhood. Conservative pundit CJ Pearson described Mulvaney’s actions as indicative of “mental illness.” Others noted a disturbing trend of women fawning over men who dress in caricatures of womanhood.
Last week, Mulvaney made an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” to promote a live production of “Day 365 of Girlhood.” Images of Barrymore kneeling in front of Mulvaney during their conversation also went viral, leading to further criticism of Mulvaney’s portrayal of femininity.
