Trans Group Issues Controversial Statement After Trans Killer Targets Christian School
A statement by the far-left organization, Trans Resistance Network (TRN), was highly controversial after Monday’s tragic shooting in a Christian school in Nashville. A transgender killed six people, including three young children. TRN expressed their “deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers” to the families of the victims. They claimed that the killer felt their only way to be seen was to lash out by taking others’ lives, and by consequence, their own. The group later stated that “hate has consequences.”
Although the group admitted that they did not know the individual and had no access to their inner thoughts, they claimed that being transgender is hard due to anti-trans legislation and public callouts by right-wing personalities and political figures. They demanded that news organizations use self-identified pronouns of transgender individuals who come across their desks. The group withdrew their statement from social media due to considerable backlash.
Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake reported that the 28-year-old killer was “receiving care for an emotional disorder.” Drake also stated that law enforcement knew nothing about her treatment. Sources close to the family informed The Daily Beast that the shooter was autistic but “high-functioning.” The shooter legally purchased seven guns from five different stores and reportedly hid these weapons at her parents’ home despite their reluctance to allow her to own any guns.
