Trump adviser ridicules DeSantis, doubts his future, claims 2024 is hopeless.

An Adviser to Trump’s 2024 Campaign Ridicules Gov. Ron DeSantis, Questions His Political Future

An adviser to former President Donald Trump’s 2024 ⁢presidential campaign took a swipe at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL)⁢ on Wednesday, casting doubts on the‌ Florida ‍governor’s political prospects and claiming that his “continued misguided ‍attacks are only helping Joe Biden.”

“Ron DeSantis needs to look in the ⁤mirror and recognize that at his current trajectory, it’s not just 2024 that is dead for him, but 2028 as well,”

The adviser, Jason Miller, senior adviser to Trump’s ⁢2024 campaign, made these remarks in response to members of DeSantis’s team criticizing Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) for his stance on Florida’s new teaching standards regarding African Americans and slavery. Donalds, the only black Republican member of Florida’s congressional delegation, expressed support for the standards but called for a revision of one line.

Donalds Stands⁣ Firm on His Position

Donalds, who has endorsed ⁣Trump for ⁢president, took to social media to ‍voice his concerns, stating that ‍”the attempt to feature the personal benefits ⁢of slavery is wrong & needs to be adjusted.” He‍ emphasized that the goal of the education⁣ department’s new standards was not to highlight the benefits of slavery and expressed confidence that the Florida Department of Education would address the issue.

However,⁣ allies⁢ of DeSantis swiftly responded, defending the new curriculum and questioning Donalds’s conservative credentials. Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. ⁣affirmed⁤ the commitment to teaching the truth and dismissed ‍any influence from the White House or a supposedly conservative congressman.

Jeremy Redfern, DeSantis’s press ‌secretary, also joined in, challenging Donalds’s political alignment and asserting that Florida would not compromise the truth for ⁤political convenience.

Donalds, taken aback by the backlash, expressed ‌his confusion and⁢ defended his position. He criticized those who misinterpreted ⁣his statement and accused them of seeking political gain. He proudly reaffirmed his endorsement of President Donald J. Trump.

DeSantis’s Campaign Struggles

DeSantis, who ⁢was once seen as a formidable contender for the GOP nomination and a potential rival to Trump, has faced setbacks in his ‍presidential campaign. He recently let go of staff members as he struggles to gain ground against ⁤the⁤ former president. Miller, Trump’s campaign adviser, used the opportunity⁣ to mock DeSantis’s campaign predicament and cast doubt⁢ on his political future beyond 2024.

“For the OFFICIAL office of the Governor, and (what’s left of) Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign to attempt to smear Congressman Donalds like this is a disgrace – and it’s indicative of why DeSantis has⁣ plummeted faster than any presidential⁣ candidate in history,” Miller said.

Miller also praised Donalds as a “conservative hero” and a leader of the Republican Party who speaks his mind and stands up against what he believes‌ is nonsense. He highlighted Trump’s appreciation for Donalds’s endorsement.
