Trump Asserts DA Bragg Has “No Case” Ahead of Tuesday Arraignment

Former President Donald Trump is set to face an arraignment in New York City on Tuesday, which has provoked a condemnation from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trump has denounced the indictment, stating that there’s “no case” and that a fair trial is an “impossible” prospect.

Trump took to Truth Social late Sunday, expressing anger towards Bragg and New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan — he demanded a change in venue and a different presiding jurist.

“The corrupt DA has no case,” Trump posted. “What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a fair trial (it must be changed!), and a Trump-hating judge, hand-selected by the Soros-backed DA (he must be changed!).”

Last year, Juan Merchan oversaw the criminal tax fraud case against the Trump Organization, with two companies within the organization found guilty of felonies related to tax fraud and falsifying business records.

George Soros, a prominent Democratic Party donor, has stated that he does not know the Manhattan District Attorney who charged Trump.

In his Truth Social comments, Trump also criticized the Department of Justice “working in the DA’s Office – Unprecedented!”

The charges against Trump will be revealed at Tuesday’s arraignment and are speculated to relate to Trump’s alleged hush money scandal involving $130,000 paid to porn star Stormy Daniels and $150,000 paid to former Playboy model Karen McDougal – both as improper payments from the Trump campaign in 2016.

Trump is set to deliver a speech after he arrives at his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, at 8:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, which will be broadcast live and in full on Newsmax.

Trump also stated his travel plans, saying that he intended to leave Mar-a-Lago at noon on Monday and head to Trump Tower in New York City.

“On Tuesday morning, I will be going to the courthouse – believe it or not,” he declared in a third message, in which he also claimed “ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!”

Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said on CNN on Sunday that he expects to file a motion to dismiss any charges revealed in the indictment on Tuesday.

“Whether you are on the right or the left, a supporter or detractor of Donald Trump, this should really bother you,” Tacopina said. “This should really shake the core of what we believe our justice system should be about. It should not be weaponized to go after political opponents.”
