Former ‌President Donald Trump has lauded 2024 ⁣Democratic‌ candidate‌ Robert Kennedy​ Jr. as⁣ a brilliant individual,​ following Kennedy’s recent controversial statement about ‍the​ COVID-19 pandemic.

Kennedy’s⁤ Controversial ‍Theory

During ​a question-and-answer ⁣session at a New York restaurant‌ on‌ the Upper East‍ Side,⁤ RFK Jr. shared his intriguing idea ​about‍ COVID-19, ‌biological weapons, and China’s involvement. ⁣He theorized that ⁤the ⁢coronavirus ‌was ⁢intentionally⁤ designed to ​spare certain groups, including Jews and⁣ Chinese‍ people.

Trump’s Praise ‍for Kennedy

During ⁤a Sunday ​interview with ‍Fox News,⁣ Trump expressed his⁢ admiration ⁢for Kennedy, stating, ​”He’s ⁤a ‍very⁣ smart ‍person. I know⁤ many ⁢members of ‍that⁣ family, and he’s a‍ very⁣ intelligent guy. He has struck a​ nerve,⁤ and I‌ know many Democrats who ‌want to⁤ vote for⁣ him.”

Kennedy ⁣is currently running⁣ in the Democratic primary‌ race ‍for‍ the ⁣2024 ‍presidential ⁤election ‍and⁤ is considered ⁣President ⁢Joe ‌Biden’s strongest⁣ challenger. When asked about Kennedy’s chances against Biden, Trump ​expressed ⁤doubt ⁣that⁤ Kennedy would even have⁣ the⁣ opportunity to‍ debate the president.

Trump’s Doubts ‍about​ Kennedy’s Nomination

“Firstly,​ Biden ​is‌ incapable of debating him,” ‍Trump asserted. “Secondly, why ‍would he debate ⁣him when ⁢he ​probably ⁤has⁢ the nomination secured? ​I don’t see ⁣RFK Jr. getting the nomination under any⁣ circumstances.”

Public Opinion on Kennedy⁤ and Other ⁤Candidates

A ​recent​ poll conducted ​by ‌the​ Economist-YouGov revealed​ that 49% of respondents held a favorable‌ view of Kennedy, while only 30% viewed ‌him unfavorably.⁢ This ⁢net favorability of 19 points makes him⁢ the most well-regarded among all ​2024 presidential‌ candidates.‌ In contrast, ⁤former ⁢New ​Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ⁢received a ‍net ⁤favorability of negative 24 ⁤points, with⁤ 51% viewing ⁤him ⁤unfavorably and⁣ only 27%⁣ favorably.

Another poll conducted from‌ July 8-11 ‌showed that⁢ 61% of⁣ voters believe ⁢Biden is ⁢not the strongest⁢ candidate‍ the‌ Democrats could nominate, while 53% believe ⁢the same about ​Trump for⁣ the Republicans in ⁤2024. ⁢Among‍ the most skeptical were Trump ⁣2020 voters,⁢ with 84% doubting‌ Biden’s strength‌ as a candidate, and​ Biden​ 2020 voters, ‌with ⁤76%⁤ skeptical of Trump’s viability.
