President Trump’s Campaign Raises Over $7 Million Since Mugshot Release

The presidential campaign of‌ Donald Trump ⁤has seen a significant boost in fundraising, with over‌ $7 million raised since his mugshot was taken during his processing at‍ an Atlanta jail. The release of his mugshot immediately garnered‍ attention on social⁤ media, prompting President Trump to make his first post ⁢on X, ⁣formerly known as Twitter, in over two years. In the post, he shared his mugshot and⁢ raised concerns about⁣ election interference, directing⁣ supporters to his campaign website.

According to Steven Cheung,⁤ a spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 bid, the campaign raised $7.1 million since the mugshot was released, with $4.18 million raised on Friday alone, making it the highest-grossing day of the campaign. Former President’s ⁤Legal Troubles Fuel Fundraising Success

The mounting legal charges against President Trump have ‍surprisingly become a fundraising ‌blessing for⁢ his campaign. Despite the allegations, his poll numbers remain strong, with RealClearPolitics showing him leading with 55.1 percent, surpassing⁢ Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by over 40 percentage points.

President Trump’s mugshot has become a symbol of his legal battles, with various merchandise featuring the image, including ‍coffee cups, posters, bobblehead dolls, ⁤and T-shirts. The mugshot captures ⁣him leaning forward, staring directly into the camera.

In his X post,‌ President Trump⁤ urged supporters to contribute to his campaign, emphasizing the need to “evict Crooked⁤ Joe Biden from the White House ⁣and SAVE AMERICA ‍during this dark⁤ chapter in our nation’s history.” He expressed his belief that the‌ charges against him were a travesty of justice and⁢ election interference.

While President Trump has not made any new⁢ posts⁣ on X since sharing ‍his mugshot, ⁣he continues to post on his‍ own Truth Social platform. It remains uncertain whether he will return to X, a platform that played a significant role in his⁢ 2016 campaign and presidency.

Outside of politics,⁤ private and non-political groups have also sought to‍ capitalize ‌on the mugshot’s popularity. Barstool Sports, for instance, is selling Trump mugshot T-shirts on their website.

Despite the negative experience of ‌being arrested and having his mugshot taken, President Trump maintains his innocence, stating that he did nothing wrong. His⁢ legal team has opposed a request⁣ for an October 23 trial date and ‍plans to file a motion to separate his case from co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro.
