The Biden campaign shared the video on X on Thursday under the caption “Here is a montage of Donald Trump getting confused, lost, wandering off, and waving to nobody.” The montage included the raw audio of each instance, some from during his presidential term, without any voiceover or subtitles. Trump is seen in several separate clips walking in several directions. Some show the former president being pointed in a direction, which Trump’s campaign told the Washington Examiner was full of “fakes.”
“This is nothing more than Fake News being peddled by those who suffer from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” the Trump campaign said in a statement. “Biden and his loser cronies should stop using cheap fakes to gaslight the American people.”
The inclusion of the phrase “cheap fakes” was a reference to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre making the same accusation of Republicans regarding footage of Biden. Reporters asked Jean-Pierre earlier this week about the instances of Biden needing the assistance of former President Barack Obama and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to move in the right direction.

“The right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem,” Jean-Pierre said. “It tells you everything we need to know about how desperate Republicans are. Instead of talking about the president’s performance in office, we’re seeing these deep fakes, these manipulated videos.”
Biden is under increased scrutiny as he is the oldest sitting U.S. president in history at 81. Should he win his reelection bid in November, he will be 86 at the end of his second term.
