Trump claims US is ‘a garbage can for the world’ during Arizona rally on immigration
Former President Donald Trump railed against illegal immigration‘s harmful impact on the nation’s global standards during a Tempe, Arizona, rally Thursday evening.
Trump first accused Vice President Kamala Harris of throwing open the nation’s southern border to “an invasion of criminal migrants from prisons and jails.”
“From all over the world, from Venezuela to the Congo in Africa, lot of people coming out of the Congo, not just South America. They’re coming from 181 countries as of yesterday,” Trump claimed.

“And we’re a dumping ground,” he continued. “We’re like a garbage can for the world that’s what’s happened.”
The former president claimed that this was “the first time I’ve ever said that,” referring to the nation as a dumping ground.
“And every time I come up and talk about what they’ve done to a country, I get angrier and angrier,” said Trump.
In addition to lambasting Harris over illegal border crossings, Trump also took a moment to slam Harris’s CNN town hall Wednesday evening. The television network also offered a town hall event to Trump after he declined a second debate against Harris. But Trump did not agree to the solo town hall.
“I watched last night. She did a town hall. Honestly, it was pathetic. It was pathetic. There’s never been anything like that,” said Trump.
“Then yet another incoherent train wreck of a television interview yesterday,” Trump said later during the rally. “Kamala Harris stated, once again, that she opposes any plan to send her illegal aliens back home.”
During the town hall, Harris reiterated her support for a bipartisan border security bill but dodged when asked about building a southern wall at the border.
“I want to strengthen our border,” she said.
