The FBI is withholding “thousands of pages of documents” pertaining to the federal government’s investigation into deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

In a Thursday letter addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel, Bondi said she initially “requested the full and complete files related to Jeffrey Epstein” before Patel was sworn into office last Friday. In response, the agency reportedly forfeited “approximately 200 pages of documents, which consisted primarily of flight logs, Epstein’s list of contacts, and a list of victims’ names and phone numbers.”

The attorney general noted how she “repeatedly questioned” the FBI about whether the batch “was the full set of documents responsive” to her inquiry, and subsequently claimed she was “repeatedly assured” by the agency the returned records were the “full set of documents.”

According to Bondi, however, the FBI wasn’t being truthful.

The Trump-appointee contended that a source informed her that the FBI field office in New York “was in possession of thousands of pages of documents related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein,” and that, “[d]espite [her] repeated requests, the FBI never disclosed the existence of these files.”

Bondi noted in her letter that Patel was “just as surprised as [she] was to learn this new information” when the two of them reportedly met on Wednesday.

RealClearPolitics’ Phil Wegmann reported this to seemingly be the case in a Thursday tweet. The White House reporter quoted an unnamed DOJ source, who allegedly said that Bondi and Patel are “100% on the same page.”

In her letter to Patel, Bondi noted that the FBI “will deliver the full and complete Epstein files” to her office by Friday morning, “regardless of how such information was obtained.”

“There will be no withholdings or limitations to my or your access,” Bondi wrote to Patel. “The Department of Justice will ensure that any public disclosure of these files will be done in a manner to protect the privacy of victims and in accordance with law, as I have done my entire career as a prosecutor.”

The attorney general further ordered Patel to conduct an investigation into the FBI’s alleged malfeasance in refusing to turn over the requested Epstein files, the results of which Patel is to deliver to Bondi “within 14 days.”

According to the New York Post, “Bondi had hinted on Fox News ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ that the DOJ was going to release ‘some Epstein information,’ while adding the fact that details of the financier’s abuse of more than 250 victims ‘will make you sick.’” No new documents have been released to the general public as of this article’s publication.

It’s worth mentioning that the FBI’s New York field office boasts a track record of engaging in corrupt activity. Specifically, the office partook in the Obama administration’s Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

In his bombshell report investigating the baseless hoax, Special Counsel John Durham detailed how the FBI New York field office was instrumental in opening an investigation into then-Trump campaign official Carter Page. The report noted how “[i]n April 2016, shortly after Page was named as an advisor to the Trump campaign, the [New York Field Office] opened a counterintelligence investigation of him.”

As The Federalist’s Tristan Justice previously reported, the inquiry “was moved from the New York field office to the FBI headquarters under the direction of then-FBI Director James Comey.” It was at this point that Comey, Justice wrote, “pressed Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance warrant” to spy on Page.
