Trump urges auto industry workers to vote for him to stop electric vehicle ‘craze’.
Former President Donald Trump Urges Auto Industry Workers to Vote for Him
Former President Donald Trump has made a passionate plea to auto industry workers, urging them to support him in the upcoming presidential election. In a bold statement, he promises to put an end to what he calls the “madness” of electric vehicles.
This comes as the Biden administration has been actively promoting electric vehicles as a crucial solution to combat climate change. In April, they proposed strict auto emissions rules aimed at boosting the sales of electric vehicles. However, Trump warns that implementing Biden’s “crazed concept” of ”all Electric Cars” would have a significant impact on the auto industry in the United States.
“There is already a giant ’E GLUT,’ they don’t go far or long, are very expensive, and the consumer must be given a CHOICE,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Vote for TRUMP, and I will stop this Madness, IMMEDIATELY! Mexico & Canada LOVE Biden’s idiotic policy. SAVE MICHIGAN and the other Auto States. SAVE THE AMERICAN CONSUMER!!!”
Trump passionately appeals to auto workers, urging them to vote for him and convince their leaders to endorse him. He believes that by doing so, jobs in the auto industry will be protected.
In response to the Biden administration’s push for electric vehicles, attorneys general from 25 states expressed their concerns in July. They argued that the proposed vehicle emissions targets by the Environmental Protection Agency would harm the U.S. economy. They deemed the plan ”unrealistic, unwise, and unsustainable,” especially considering that electric vehicle sales currently only account for 8.4% of new vehicles sold in the United States.
The Biden administration, on the other hand, defends the new proposed vehicle standards as a “historic” investment. They claim that these standards will significantly reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, and lower costs for consumers.
Potential Strike Looms for Biden
Biden faces a potential strike from the United Auto Workers (UAW), which could impact the development of electric vehicle batteries for major American auto manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis. UAW President Shawn Fain has called on Biden and lawmakers in Washington D.C. to revise federal incentives in various spending legislation to ensure fair wages and safety standards at all auto factories.
