“The more that a broken system tells you that you’re wrong, the more certain you should be that you must keep pushing ahead,” Trump says in the video, an excerpt from a commencement speech he gave at Liberty University in 2017.
Trump also states how the United States will “always rise to every challenge” it faces and promises to “totally obliterate the deep state” in his next term.
“As long as we have pride in our beliefs, courage in our convictions, and faith in our God, then we will not fail,” says Trump.
Noticeably, the first assassination attempt against Trump, which occurred on July 13, is not featured in the video despite being one of the biggest stories of the year.
Trump will be sworn into office on Jan. 20, kickstarting his second term as president.
Ahead of Inauguration Day, Trump has been working to unify House Republicans behind supporting House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who is aiming to keep the gavel in a vote this Friday. Trump has also met and spoken with Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, who confirmed she and the president-elect share the goal of making the district “the most beautiful city in the world.”
