Trump fires back as DeSantis escalates 2024 feud: ‘My fault, I put him there’
Former President Donald Trump has fired back at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after DeSantis criticized him in a recent interview with Piers Morgan.
Trump, in response, launched a series of tweets accusing DeSantis of being an “average Governor” whose victory in the election was due to Trump’s endorsement. He also criticized DeSantis’s handling of the pandemic, ranking of Florida’s education and crime statistics, and his legislative record.
Trump’s attacks on DeSantis were unprecedented in their intensity and focus on his legislative record. He accused DeSantis of cutting Social Security and Medicare and being a disciple of Paul Ryan.
DeSantis, on his part, had hinted in the interview that he is planning to run in 2024 and claimed that he has what it takes to beat Biden and that his time as Florida governor has prepared him for the presidency.
The feud between Trump and DeSantis is expected to escalate as campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination heats up.
