Trump joins fans at tailgate, flips burgers for Iowa-Iowa State game.
Former President Donald Trump Flips Burgers and Visits Fraternity House Before Iowa-Iowa State Game
Former President Donald Trump made a memorable appearance at the Iowa-Iowa State college football game on Saturday. He didn’t just watch from the sidelines; he actively participated in tailgating activities, including flipping burgers on the grill. The crowd of students and media eagerly watched as Trump showcased his grilling skills, presenting a burger patty on a spatula before expertly cooking it further.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Trump also took the time to visit the Alpha Gamma Rho, an agricultural fraternity at Iowa State University. As he mingled with the crowd, he even tossed footballs to enthusiastic fans, leaving his signature on one of the footballs as a cherished memento.
“This is some turnout; I guess the youth likes Trump, but we love Iowa. We just left South Dakota last night; it was an amazing evening,”
Trump exclaimed after leaving the fraternity house. “We got a wonderful endorsement from [Kristi Noem], and we’re here, and the reception has been incredible, really incredible.”
It’s worth noting that Trump wasn’t the only Republican presidential candidate present at the game. Governors Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Doug Bergum (R-ND) were also in attendance, joining in the tailgating festivities in Ames, Iowa.
Despite the excitement surrounding Trump’s appearance, reports suggest that his campaign is concerned about lagging behind competitors like DeSantis in the Hawkeye State. However, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Trump remains the current front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, leading other GOP candidates by a significant margin of nearly 40%.
