Former President Donald Trump provided 275 linemen from the Florida Power & Light Company with rooms at no cost at the Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, ahead of Hurricane Milton.

Trump’s son, Eric Trump, shared a photo of the linemen on social media, thanking them for their work.

“Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at @TrumpDoral as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton!” Eric Trump wrote in a post on X on Wednesday.

“You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms – they are the best in Florida! Be safe!” he added.

As Florida braces for Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall on the western part of the state Wednesday evening, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) announced that he has activated and prestaged over 50,000 linemen in preparation for the hurricane’s devastation. The linemen are essential in recovery efforts, providing lifesaving power in the storm’s aftermath.

Trump National Doral’s hotel suite rates range from $251 a night to $8,251 a night, and the hotel has a total of 643 guest rooms, 14 deluxe suites, 27 premier suites, 2 presidential suites, and 48 spa suites. The luxury hotel has championship golf courses, high-end restaurants, a pool, and cabanas.

“This is another example of the generosity and kindness displayed by the Trump family every single day. They truly care for the American people,” Karoline Leavitt, Trump campaign’s national press secretary, said to The Washington Examiner.

One father thanked the former president for housing his son, who is a lineman, during the hurricane.

During Hurricane Helene, which hit Florida last week, DeSantis had 2.4 million power restorations done at a record-breaking speed to bring Floridians back on the power grid.

DeSantis said in a press conference Wednesday that many linemen are already very busy in recovery efforts in other parts of the country, including North Carolina and Georgia. He remarked that it was “a very big deal” that Florida was able to get 50,000 linemen to help in Hurricane Milton’s aftermath, considering other states are still in recovery mode.

“You will likely lose power if you are in the path of this storm. Be prepared for that. Have a plan to deal with it. But know that we have a huge number of assets that are here ready to go and they will go as soon as it’s safe to do so,” the Florida governor said.
