Trump responds to New York fraud ruling with a lengthy statement.
Former President Donald Trump vehemently denounced the fraud ruling against him, characterizing it as a vicious assault on his family. After expressing his outrage on various social media platforms about the New York civil case, he released a statement to address the situation. In his statement, President Trump declared, “The relentless and extreme attack on me, my family, and my supporters has now reached unprecedented, un-American depths. This is all orchestrated by a deranged New York State Judge who is doing the bidding of a completely biased and corrupt ‘Prosecutor,’ Letitia James. She ran for office with a ‘Get Trump’ agenda, even before knowing anything about me.”Besides the civil case led by Ms. James, President Trump is currently facing multiple other civil cases and four criminal indictments, totaling 91 charges. He has pleaded not guilty to all of them. President Trump asserted that these mounting legal attacks are driven by the “radical left Democrats” who are desperate to prevent another Trump administration, especially after he surpassed incumbent President Joe Biden in the polls.
“Regardless of Party, we cannot allow this to happen in the United States of America!” President Trump emphasized. He further stated that the “highly political prosecutors and judges” are growing increasingly desperate and dangerous.
President Trump expressed his concerns, saying, “Our country is rapidly descending into communism, and my civil rights have been stripped away from me.”Fraud Case
On Tuesday, Judge Arthur Engoron delivered a ruling on one of the seven complaints filed by Ms. James in her case. Last month, Ms. James requested a pre-trial summary judgment from the court regarding the allegation that President Trump had artificially inflated his net worth between 2011 and 2021, leading insurers and lenders to offer him lower prices, which constitutes fraud.Ms. James is seeking $250 million in penalties and aims to prohibit President Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr. from holding executive positions in New York state. The judge has given them a 10-day deadline to propose three independent reviewers who will oversee the dissolution of the Trump Organization and its affiliated companies.President Trump attempted to have the case transferred to the commercial division, but his request was denied. Subsequent motions to dismiss the case on other grounds also failed.Mar-A-Lago
President Trump vehemently dismissed the fraud accusation as “absurd and baseless.”
“As an example, this Democrat Operative valued Mar-a-Lago, the most magnificent and valuable property in Palm Beach, Florida, at a mere $18 million, when in reality, its value could be nearly 100 times that amount,” he wrote.
Both Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the $18 million valuation.
“If Mar-a-Lago is worth $18 million… I’ll take 10, please!!!” exclaimed Donald Trump Jr., the executive vice president of the Trump Organization. He jokingly added, “If my father claimed the property was worth $18 million, he would probably be charged with trying to evade real estate taxes! They’ve rigged the game so that it’s always a lose-lose situation in these blue states. If you don’t conform to their narrative, they will attack you.”“The real estate community in Florida is laughing at this absurdity,” chimed in Eric Trump, also an executive vice president of the Trump Organization. He shared screenshots of nearby properties, which are only ”1/30″ the size of Mar-a-Lago, listed for around $40 million.‘Un-American’
President Trump strongly asserted that the judge’s decision lacked impartiality.
“He harbored an unprecedented level of animosity towards me, surpassing even Letitia James’ hatred. There was no trial, no jury to judge the alleged ‘wrongdoing’ of fully repaying sophisticated Wall Street banks in a timely manner, with interest, and without any defaults or victims.”
President Trump, a former media personality and businessman, took over his father’s real estate business in 1971, rebranding it as the Trump Organization. He expanded its portfolio to include skyscrapers, hotels, golf courses, and various other ventures. Between 1991 and 2009, he filed for bankruptcy six times. Real estate was not his sole focus; he also licensed the “Trump” name, which contributed significantly to his business. Additionally, from 2004 to 2015, he co-produced and hosted the reality series “The Apprentice.” Throughout his career, the former president championed free market policies.
President Trump expressed his intention to appeal the case, urging “some appellate court” to review his case and overturn this “outrageous, un-American decision.”
He had previously shared his perspective on social media, asserting that his net worth exceeded the figures stated in the financial documents in question, rather than being understated.
“I didn’t even include my most valuable asset, my brand,” he wrote. “The banks were fully repaid, sometimes ahead of schedule, with no defaults. The banks profited, they were represented by top-tier law firms, and they were very ‘satisfied.’ There were no victims!”
President Trump also highlighted that all valuation documents contain a standard Disclaimer, a “non-reliance” clause that advises financial institutions to conduct their own research and analysis. He emphasized that he had minimal debt.
“This is an exceptional company that has been defamed and vilified by this politically motivated witch hunt. It is tremendously unfair, and I implore the highest courts in New York state or the federal system to intervene. This is not the America we know!” he concluded.
Oppressive socialism. He declared that his presidency was a beacon of freedom and capitalism, and any attempts to suppress or attack him and his family were an attack on the principles that the United States was founded upon.
Is no doubt that this is a politically motivated attack on myself and my family,” President Trump declared in his statement.
The fraud case filed by Letitia James alleges that President Trump purposely inflated his net worth to receive lower prices from insurers and lenders. The judge ruled on one of the complaints, but President Trump vehemently dismissed the accusation as “absurd and baseless.” He pointed out that the valuation of Mar-a-Lago, his property in Palm Beach, Florida, was deemed to be only $18 million, whereas its actual value could be nearly 100 times that amount.
President Trump’s children, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., also expressed their disbelief in the $18 million valuation. Donald Trump Jr. sarcastically remarked that if Mar-a-Lago was worth $18 million, he would gladly take ten of them. Both Eric and Donald Trump Jr. criticized the biased nature of the case, acknowledging that similar properties in the area were listed for around $40 million, despite being significantly smaller.
In his statement, President Trump condemned the judge’s decision, asserting that it lacked impartiality. He accused the judge of harboring a level of animosity towards him that surpassed even Letitia James’ hatred.
