Trump Laments Tucker’s Ousting From Fox News: ‘I’m Shocked’

Former President Donald Trump has joined the chorus of conservatives expressing shock at Tucker Carlson’s sudden departure from Fox News. In an interview with Newsmax on Monday, Trump said he was “shocked” to learn of Carlson’s exit and praised the former host as a “good man.”

“I’m surprised. He’s a very talented and good person,” Trump said. “Tucker’s been terrific, especially over the last year or so.”

Later that night, Trump took to Truth Social to offer additional praise for Carlson, saying that his departure was a “big blow to Cable News, and to America.”

“Tucker was insightful, interesting, and ratings gold. He will be greatly missed!” Trump added.

On Monday, Fox News released a press release revealing that the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways,” but did not provide a specific reason for his departure. Carlson’s show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which consistently ranked as the highest-rated show on cable news, aired its last episode on Friday.

Over the past several years, Carlson has provided some of the most insightful and newsworthy analysis of current events among D.C. political pundits. He has been instrumental in highlighting significant aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic that legacy media chose to ignore, including the probable theory that the respiratory virus leaked out of a lab in Wuhan, China, and the risks associated with the Covid jabs.
