Trump launches new website to fact-check Biden during the debate – Washington Examiner
Ahead of a debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, the Trump campaign launched a new website called factcheckbiden.com. This site is designed to provide real-time updates and fact-checks particularly targeting Biden’s statements during the debate. The launch occurred on Thursday morning, ahead of the debate scheduled for Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on CNN. The website criticizes Biden’s debate history, claiming he often makes false statements about various topics, including his own record and background. The website aims to hold Joe Biden accountable for his statements during the debate.
Ahead of Thursday’s debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, Trump’s campaign has launched a new website to “fact check” Biden along the way.
Thursday morning, Trump’s team launched factcheckbiden.com to give real time updates and fact checks if Biden is caught lying. The presidential debate will take place Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET, on CNN.
“Biden has been doing political debates for 50 years, having taken part in at least 40 debates since 1972,” the website reads. “His performances are often filled with lies – about himself, about statistics, about his record, and about events that never took place.”
“We are holding Joe Biden accountable,” the website continues.
There are multiple articles currently up that “fact check” various statements from Biden about his upbringing, his time in the Senate and as Vice President, and some of his current policy as President.
During the 2020 debates between the two men, it was largely Trump at the time who was being fact checked.
“We had an avalanche of lying from President Trump,” CNN reporter Daniel Dale said at the time. “[Former Vice President Joe] Biden, conversely, made at least a couple false or misleading claims. But honestly, he was largely accurate.”

While Biden is largely seen as the winner of both presidential debates in 2020, experts say mistakes are likely what viewers take away from debates.
“The big thing for Biden is can he avoid a mistake? Biden is sort of predictable. His positions are pretty well known. He’s pretty calm. He’s an institutionalist. The key challenge will be can he avoid the mistake that comes to dominate the after-debate media coverage,” Thomas Hollihan, a professor at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, told the Washington Examiner.
