Trump using women as primary weapon in crucial states.
Former President Donald Trump’s Polling Lead Fueled by “Make America Great Again” Women
An exclusive poll from the Daily Mail reveals that women are playing a crucial role in former President Donald Trump’s significant lead in the primary race. These “Make America Great Again” women are giving him an edge over other GOP candidates in battleground states.
Trump’s Strong Support Among Women Voters
Trump is currently leading Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in the RealClearPolitics average, thanks in large part to his popularity among women voters. In states like New Hampshire, Iowa, and Arizona, Trump has garnered a substantial amount of female support.
- In New Hampshire, Trump received 56% of female support compared to DeSantis’s 30%.
- In Iowa, Trump holds 48% among female voters, while DeSantis trails with 35%.
- Similarly, in Arizona, Trump enjoys 58% of female support, while DeSantis only has 28%.
“Republican women are Trump’s army,” says James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners. ”In the wider country, Trump lags behind Biden with women — especially in the suburbs. But get to the Republican primary audience, and female voters are Trump’s most ardent supporters — backing him more than men do by as much as 30 points.”
The reason behind women’s preference for Trump over DeSantis may lie in the culture war fights that the Florida governor has emphasized throughout his campaign. DeSantis’s focus on ending “wokeness” in various sectors like businesses, healthcare, education, and the military doesn’t seem to resonate with female voters.
Meghan Milloy, co-founder of Republican Women for Progress, explains, “DeSantis came in hot on the culture wars and has stayed hot while other Republicans have piped down a bit, and I think that women across the board are rejecting those policies and are generally tired of the attacks on businesses for being too ‘woke’.”
While Trump has historically struggled to appeal to suburban female voters, early polling suggests that he is gaining their support in the primary election. However, maintaining these leads in the general election, especially considering his recent court battles, may prove to be more challenging.
The Importance of Trump’s Running Mate
The key to securing female support in the general election could hinge on Trump’s choice of running mate. While having a female running mate doesn’t guarantee female voters’ support, it could give Trump an advantage in the polls. Potential running mates like Kari Lake (popular in Arizona), Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR), Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD), or even GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley could help sway female voters.

“President Trump has been dominating in poll after poll — both nationally and statewide — and voters from all backgrounds are clearly standing with him in a big way,” says Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung. “The fact is that President Trump will be the nominee and will beat Crooked Joe Biden because he’s the only person who can supercharge the economy, secure our border, safeguard communities, and put an end to unnecessary wars. Americans want to return to a prosperous nation and there’s only one person who can do that — President Trump.”
