Trump Responds to Discovery of Biden’s Classified Docs

Trump’s ex-vice president reacted Monday when it was reported that the Department of Justice was looking into classified material in a private Office belonging to President Biden during his time as vice president. 

“When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House? These documents were definitely not declassified,” Trump stated this on Truth Social Sharing the CBS News report. 

The classified documents were discovered by Biden’s personal attorneys as they “were packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.,” Richard Sauber was special counsel to President Obama, according to CBS News. 

The National Archives was notified of the discovery shortly before the midterm election on Nov. 2. They then took possession of the documents that day. 

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was raided by FBI agents in August, where investigators found more than a hundred classified documents. Although there were fewer items at Biden’s office, Trump publicly criticized his predecessor and wondered how. “anyone could be that irresponsible.”

Biden, as VP, would have been subject the Presidential Records Act. This law requires that records be turned over at end of administration.

Donald Trump Jr. also replied to the report via Twitter:

“We were told for months that this was treasonous… grounds for impeachment… & meriting the death penalty, yet I have a feeling nothing will happen!?”
