Trump Says He’d ‘Crush’ Biden in Possible 2024 Rematch
Trump Calls Out “Crooked Joe Biden” in Latest Campaign Speech
Former President Donald Trump is back on the campaign trail, and he’s not holding back. In his latest speech, he drew sharp contrasts between himself and “Crooked Joe Biden,” the nickname he’s given the current Democrat president. Trump spent over an hour discussing how he differs from Biden in both style and substance, invoking Biden’s name more than two dozen times.
Retiring Hillary’s Nickname
During the speech, Trump joked that he would retire the nickname he gave to former rival Hillary Clinton so he could transfer it to Biden. From now on, he said, Biden will be known as “Crooked Joe Biden.” Trump went on to describe Biden as the most dishonest and crooked politician in American history.
Contrasting with China
Trump also accused Biden and his family of raking in millions of dollars from foreign interests, including some in China. He contrasted this with his own record, saying that during his presidency, he provided relief to U.S. lobstermen straight from the money he was taking in from China. Trump said that while he knew how to stand his ground and gain respect from China’s leader, Xi Jinping, Biden waffles.
Boosting the Economy
Trump promised to lower taxes and enact policies that would help lower inflation and gasoline prices that are hurting many Americans’ wallets. He intends to spearhead the construction of a natural-gas pipeline through New England, where people consistently pay the nation’s highest energy prices. Trump reminded the audience that gasoline prices were around $1.87 per gallon during his presidency, while the average national price on April 27 was $3.64 per gallon.
Justice or Injustice?
Trump also promised to restore safety and order to American cities, including beefing up immigration enforcement and restoring funding to police agencies that were “defunded” in recent years. He accused “radical” district attorneys of attempting to “weaponize” the justice system as they turn a blind eye to violent crimes and persecute political enemies—like him. Trump also accused prosecutors and the Biden administration of “using the criminal justice system for massive election interference.”
Biden’s Bungling
Trump noted that Biden was caught using a “cheat sheet” to prepare himself for a news reporter’s question. Despite his recent legal woes, Trump seemed unfazed, saying that the harder they hit, the better he does. He ended his speech by saying that in the end, they’re not coming after him, they’re coming after the American people, and he’s just standing in the way.
