Trump claims Pelosi and Haley are ‘interchangeable
Former President Donald Trump Mixes Up Pelosi and Haley on Purpose
During a campaign rally on Saturday, former President Donald Trump revealed that he intentionally confuses Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and his Republican primary opponent Nikki Haley. Trump playfully stated that they are “interchangeable in my mind.”
Addressing his supporters in Richmond, Virginia, the leading contender for the GOP presidential nomination expressed caution in his choice of words due to media coverage. He cited an example where he referred to former President Barack Obama as “the president of our country,” only to be criticized for not knowing that Joe Biden is the current president.
Trump then turned his attention to Pelosi and Haley, humorously referring to Haley as “Birdbrain.” He admitted to purposely mixing up their names because they are similar in his mind.
Furthermore, Trump took a jab at Haley, despite securing three delegate victories over her on the same day. He acknowledged that Pelosi is “probably a little bit smarter” than Haley, a statement he found regrettable.
With 244 delegates to Haley’s 24, Trump’s recent wins in Michigan, Missouri, and Idaho have solidified his position. However, Super Tuesday, with 854 delegates up for grabs across 15 states, including Virginia, will be a crucial turning point. Haley has vowed to remain in the GOP primary race until then, although she has yet to win a state.
