Trump shares ‘joyous Easter Sunday’ message: ‘We need God. We want God’
President Donald Trump shared a video message on Easter Sunday, celebrating the significance of the holiday for Christians. In his message, he highlighted the biblical story of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, emphasizing it as a testament to God’s “boundless love” and the promise of everlasting life for believers. Trump wished christians a “happy, beautiful, and blessed holiday,” reiterating America’s identity as a nation of believers and the collective need for God.He stressed that, with divine help, the nation can become “stronger, safer, greater, more prosperous, and much more united.” This message contrasts with former President Joe Biden’s approach to easter the previous year, wherein he focused on commemorating the transgender community. In anticipation of the holiday, Trump also hosted faith leaders for prayer at the White House.
Trump shares ‘joyous Easter Sunday’ message: ‘We need God. We want God’
President Donald Trump rang in Easter Sunday with a video message for Christians.
Trump told the brief story behind the biblical holiday centered on Jesus Christ, who, according to Christian tradition, was crucified on a cross and then rose from the dead. The president referred to the event as proof of God’s “boundless love” for people while also giving them the “promise of everlasting life.” As a Christian himself, Trump made the proclamation, as other believers do, that “He is risen.”
“As we approach this joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a happy, and beautiful, and blessed holiday,” Trump said. “America is a nation of believers. We need God. We want God. And with His help, we will make our nation stronger, safer, greater, more prosperous, and much more united than before.”
WHITE HOUSE TO CELEBRATE EASTER IN ‘RETURN TO GOLDEN ERA’
Last Easter, former President Joe Biden, a lifelong Catholic, designated his last Easter in office as a “Day of Trans Visibility,” opting to appeal to the transgender community on the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus.
In contrast, Trump hosted faith leaders at the White House for an evening of prayer earlier this week and released another message for the holiday.
