Trump Criticizes Media for Misrepresenting Predicted Auto Industry Crisis
Trump Calls Out Media for “Bloodbath” Misrepresentation
In a fiery critique, former President Donald Trump condemned mainstream media outlets this Monday for what he claims is a severe misrepresentation of his comments regarding the auto industry’s future.
Prominent news platforms such as NBC News, CBS News, Rolling Stone, and others are under scrutiny for headlining Trump’s “bloodbath” remarks without offering the full story — allegations that he was pinpointing the negative impact of President Joe Biden’s trade policies on American auto workers.
Trump’s Candid Expose on Social Media
“The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean.”
Trump didn’t stop there; he also targeted Biden’s electric vehicle agenda. He asserted that if the current policies continue, it could end car production in the States, a situation he vows to reverse if re-elected.
“With the Electric Car Mandate being pushed by Biden, there soon won’t be any cars made in the USA – UNLESS I’M ELECTED PRESIDENT, IN WHICH CASE AUTO MANUFACTURING WILL THRIVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!! MAGA2024,” he boldly claimed.
Amid the Ohio rally, Trump didn’t mince words regarding international manufacturing strategies that bypass American labor. He alluded to measures he’d enact to counter these practices, including significant tariffs aimed at deterring offshoring.
“Let me tell you something to China, if you’re listening President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us? No. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going be able to sell those cars. If I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it,” Trump emphasized.
But in the aftermath of his fervent discourse, headlines seemed to distort Trump’s message. NBC News and CBS News both framed the “bloodbath” comment as a doomsday prediction should Trump lose an election, while Biden’s campaign selectively quoted the phrase, sidestepping the automotive context for a narrative peppered with overtones of violence.
