Trump taps Monica Crowley to rejoin his administration
President-elect Donald Trump nominated Monica Crowley, a former official in his first presidency, on Wednesday to join his second administration as ambassador, assistant secretary of state, and chief of protocol of the United States of America.
In this role, Crowley will be the administration representative for major global events, including the FIFA World Cup in 2026, the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, and the U.S. celebrating its 250th birthday in 2026.
“During my first term, Monica did an incredible job as assistant secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs,” Trump said in a statement.

The president-elect also praised Crowley’s résumé, which includes her role as a Fox News host and contributor, a New York Times bestselling author, and a recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Award.
Crowley, who served as a political and foreign affairs analyst for the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, is among a growing number of Trump administration officials who have also served as a Fox News host or contributor.
She joins Pete Hegseth, Trump’s defense secretary nominee, and former Fox and Friends Weekend co-host, Sean Duffy, Trump’s secretary of the Department of Transportation nominee, and Fox Business host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Trump’s pick for ambassador to Israel, as officials who have all had a past stint on the conservative network.

Other Fox contributors who have been tapped to join Trump’s administration include Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Trump’s surgeon general pick, former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, “border czar” Tom Homan, and former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, Trump’s education secretary nominee.
Crowley is also among the growing number of women officials in Trump’s second administration.
