Trump teases ‘major interview’ with Elon Musk – Washington Examiner
Former President Donald Trump is set to conduct a significant interview with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, on Monday night. Trump made the announcement via his Truth Social platform, indicating that more details about the interview would be revealed soon. Musk, who previously identified as a Democrat, has recently endorsed Trump’s presidential campaign, expressing discontent with what he describes as a “woke mind virus” promoted by progressives. He appreciates Trump’s leadership qualities and fiery spirit. Interestingly, there was a report claiming Musk donated $45 million a month to Trump’s campaign, but Musk later disputed this, clarifying his stance as more aligned with “Make America Greater.” Musk has a history of conducting interviews on his platform, X, engaging with a variety of public figures and offering them significant exposure to a large audience.
Trump teases ‘major interview’ with Elon Musk
Former President Donald Trump is ready to sit down for a chat with one of Big Tech’s biggest moguls, Tesla and Space X founder and CEO Elon Musk.
On Tuesday, the Republican presidential nominee announced he has plans for an interview with Musk in under a week.
“ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social.
The former president added there are additional “details to follow” as he teased the interview with the owner of X. The so-called “global town square” is used by 245 million users daily.
Musk has said he was a firm Democrat until a few years ago, supporting former President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and President Joe Biden’s bids for the White House.
This year, Musk endorsed Trump’s campaign and said he is upset at the “woke mind virus” he believes progressives have started to promote.
“There’s something to be said that America needs a strong leader where you have the perception of strength,” Musk told psychologist and lifestyle author Jordan Peterson earlier this month as he explained why he would vote for Trump. Musk said he admired Trump’s fiery spirit and fighting fist bumps in the air immediately after surviving an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.
Three weeks ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that Musk donated $45 million a month to Trump. The X founder has distanced himself from the report, saying it was false and that he wouldn’t characterize himself as a “MAGA” supporter.
“I think America is great,” Musk told Peterson. “I’m more ‘MAG’ — ’Make America Greater.’”
Musk has conducted interviews on his social media platform with a range of media pundits, politicians, and activists, including former CNN host Don Lemon, former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Daily Wire founding editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro.
People hosted on the X platform are guaranteed that a vast audience will hear their message as Musk’s high-profile sit-downs receive millions of views.
Musk‘s X on Tuesday filed an antitrust lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, accusing the international advertising group of illegally boycotting companies.
X Corp. CEO Linda Yaccarino alleged that GARM members such as Mars, CVS Health, Unilever, and Orsted had conspired to target the social media platform and threatened the “one place where you can express yourself freely and openly at risk.”
